In the US where I lived - Philadelphia - no. Owning a car was a waste of $1,000 each month that no one needed. $250 on auto insurance, $9 a day on parking, $63 a week on gas, any actual maintenance charges if applicable, and the actual car payments itself (at least $250 a month on a junker) if you didn't own it outright.
I seriously can't figure out how most people who aren't wealthy or well-off can afford cars. Then again, I've never lived out in the sticks or boonies, either. Only ever lived in big cities. The smallest place I've lived in Korea still had 400,000 people in it. Maybe they're cheaper in the rural areas and small towns, but cars were a thousand-dollar-a-month waste of money back in the US, and I never wanted to own one just due to the BS mandatory auto insurance alone.
Here in Korea, nobody really needs a car, either. People own them, but just like in big cities in the US, it's mainly the wealthy. Most people own a bicycle, and public transportation is good in most places. I myself own an e-bike, which can get up to 40 KPH (27 miles an hour.) A car would be nice if I were rich, but I don't need one right now.
If a date wanted me to own a car, I'll tell her go date Elon and stop wasting my time.
I have had a couple times in my life where I didn't have a car. One time was in graduate school. The city had busses everywhere, the grocery store was next door to my apartment. I was happy to not have a car. It didn't prevent me from meeting women or men for sex.
The other time I , i had my transmission repaired , which took two weeks. Again, no problems but I had a girlfriend at the time. She lived 30 miles away. Still had no problem getting over to her place on a free bus for pussy on the weekend.
No, and men don't need them either. Of course past a certain age it's good to at least have the driving license. It depends on where you live, I lived in three different European towns/cities and they were all well connected and in one of them a car was more of a liability at times. But if I lived in a rural area then a car would be required, more guys from the country owned cars than the city boys lol
Where I live it’s necessity. We don’t have a public transit system so being able to drive, by either borrowing your family car or having your own is ideal. Cabs are another option. Dating in the city though there’s public transit so having your own vehicle isn’t as big a deal.

No. Go for a jog or walk together or take the public transit or Uber. I think it’s romantic going for a stroll downtown and stopping at a cafe or quaint restaurant and grab something to eat.
A lot of people take the bus where I live so buses come pretty often and are both convenient and affordable due to high consumer volume.
I mean, there’s of course Uber and cabs, but apart from that…probably better to have a car. You could go on a beach date, but even that’s just a little bit longer than you’d reasonably want to walk on a date, I’d say it’s about a mile, so carry beach stuff and chairs and a cooler is a hassle. It’s a five minute drive to the downtown area, but the walk would be close to an hour, and it’s hilly.
Absolutely. Even if the immediate area was packed with interesting things to see and do. Even if public transit was widely available at all hours and perfectly affordable, clean and safe. As a man, owning a car is an absolute necessity for attracting women, let alone dating. If you can get a date without letting a woman know how much you make and what you drive, those two questions will be among the first she brings up in the interview. Guaranteed.
100% yes. Hell, you need a car here just to have friends, let alone date! The city is huge and although they are rapidly expanding transportation, it is nearly impossible to live here without a car. Add to that the summers are brutally hot, so showing up to the date after 2 bus stops soaked in sweat is not a good look.
It a necessity just to go pick up a six pack of beer. The bag whore at the liquor store just happened to be there. So is the bicycle rider I accidentally ran over on the way to the store.
That when you have to talk to the cops and say you think you seen the guy that did it. He was driving a fancy mustang looking car and he threw the dead hooker out on the side of the road. Let me know if you guys catch him.
A car would help, but we have parents who want us to be dating each other. Also for movies, the theater is maybe a mile or so away by walking, so it's not that big of a deal if we decide to have a movie date. We've literally decided the day of at about 10 am to go to movies and don't even bother checking to see when the movie airs, because it's so easy to get there.
You really need a car, it’s a tad rural and even going for a meal out would a long walk.
we see a bus now and then, I think I saw one in March.
Its necessary to own a car to go pretty much anywhere lol. Nearest town is a few miles away and its not even a big town. An actual city qbout 30 miles
Unless you live in a large city or metro area where there is public transportation than having a car is pretty much a necessity to live.
Yes. My SO and I live in a private community where there is nothing within walking distance.
Absolutely. You've got more chance of a bj from a Nun than catching an evening bus and taxis are expensive. Without transport any form of social life is impossible let alone dating
Yes, you need a Vehicle to date someone. No vehicle means your undateable or you can’t date anybody. Get your license!
No, but it's a lot better.
We have a long rainy season and it's sooo much better if you have a car.
In general yes but there are some town which have enough going on that you won't need a car to go on a date.
Yep. You might be able to live around here without a car, but not comfortably. There's essentially no public transportation, and the nearest town is 3 miles.
I live in the uk and nothing is ever that far
Yes, I live 45 minutes from the nearest city
It’s a necessity to own a car to have a job where I live, even more so to date.
I'm lucky most things are at most a couple miles away so I can bike.
