Single mother in her 30's says upfront that she wants to date a guy with long term goals in marrying her. For the guys that responded, she ask them to write a 500 word essay on how they won't waste her time.

Whoa that is some entitled woman... and one to stay away from for that very reason. One girl in our first phone chat effectively gave me a job interview. No wonder she was single.
Some guys would do it. One guy I know went so far as getting written references from girls. Pathetic.
I would Never put anymore than minimal effort for a single mother.

Although it's good that she wants a long-term relationship, she is not in a position to demand something silly like that. She'll be lucky to get ANY guy to date her long term.

A single mother in her 30s? She would have to be something really special to even consider dating long term.
Unfortunately all she can hope for from me is the best sex of her life maybe a few times if she's also good in bed.
But beyond that: I'm not stepping up for anyone's kid.
She not worth it, single moms bring too much baggage and she think too highly of herself.
"I just want to find a man who loves my children as much as I do" means with biological father isn't even in the picture anymore.
Five hundred words is practically nothing. Not a big deal.
