Why does he want to continue to be my boyfriend if there is a possibility of us ending because of long distance?

My boyfriend came over last night and he bought me flowers and went to the movies later on that night. He mentioned he was applying for jobs where we live and abroad so I was like ok. Then later that night we were saying how impressed how my brother dated a girl for 7 years long distance and then he said "long distance is not something I can personally do"

So I'm like wondering wtf does that mean with us then 🤔

I would ask him directly what he means by that. Maybe he just means he couldn't do it for as long as your brother did, but might not think a few months to a year would be a big problem. Is it hard to find jobs in his field where you live, or does he have any particular reason for applying abroad?

ah ok, maybe he's just applying to everything then. Might be innocent, I would still ask him why he's applying to jobs abroad if he doesn't see himself being in a long distance relationship and see what he says.

I mean as I said, it could all be quite harmless and just a big misunderstanding. Maybe he really is just casting his job search as far and wide as possible! Maybe he just wants to practice interviews, it's also not a bad strategy in general to apply to as many places as possible. Best to ask him directly and try to avoid jumping to conclusions in the meantime!
