Does a bad first kiss on a date mean there is no chemistry and that I won’t be seeing him again?

To give you some background, the guy I went on a date with I have actually know for the past 6 months. We met at work, and actually right before hand we had matched on 2 dating sites. There was always awkward tension between the two of us. Anywho, he quit that job and we kind of lost touch. I also started seeing someone else so we really didn’t interact. Anywho, now I decided to reach out to him again. He still showed interest and we decided to hang out today. We went to the mall to find him a work shirt, and then we went out to eat. It was fun, the conversation was flowing and we had hung out for like 4 hours. There was laughing and light touching as well. After we had eaten, he drove me back to my apartment. We were saying our goodbyes, and out of nowhere he kissed me. It was really awkward and I laughed and told him that. He asked if was “really bad” and I told him no even though it was weird. He tried it again, but I laughed again and couldn’t go through with it. He apologized and kept asking if it was bad. I tried to change the subject, and eventually we parted ways- ending with an awkward fist pump. I apologized and said I hope he still liked me, he said he did. I guess I am not sure if that means we aren’t compatible or if he is not going to want to see me again. It’s been about an hour since he left and I haven’t heard from him and I feel bad about what happened. I want to try again I am just not sure he wants to or if it’s even worth it
