Will you dumb yourself down if your intelligence costing you relationships?

Most people don't wanna date highly intelligent once as they can't relate to them.

I study theoretical physicist and have IQ over the top. The problem is I can't connect with almost anyone and be happy. The girls around me have always rejected me and went for less intelligent but always fun type of guys.

I am not arrogant if you think that's the problem but kinda opposite. I do volenteers in pet shelters too and have hobbies but always alone.

Eventually at the end of the day we are all human who expect at least some kind of love and affection, but I think my intelligence is getting on the way.

Nah. You're just too stiff about your ''qualities''.

Not your ''intelligence'' is your hindrance, but your inability (or unwillingness?) to not put it into the foreground each time when no one had asked you about it.

Perhaps your focus on your 'studies' also makes you one of these gifted - but boring - persons who never can ''switch off''.

It's your character, not your intellect that prevents you from getting laid.

I don't study much , don't need to , Since most of it are easy with a memory like mine. I do have fun in some hobbies , games or travelling. The problem isn't getting just random girls. The problem is getting someone similar.

That's not a surprise: our 'level' isn't well represented in numbers.
If you want someone ''similar''- then be prepared to spend a LONG time to find her.
My own observation: dis-similarities often spice up things in a relationship. Mainly, because a relationship isn't about 'intellect', but about the feelings that we share and the 'happiness that we generate for (and with) each other.
You (or we) do NOT ''dumb down'' by accepting that people's minds and potential simply are of different nature. We actually ''dumb UP'' by doing so.
Being smart is a satisfying fact. But there's more to life than just this.

There's a certain type of intelligence that finds even a bimbo talking about how she does her make-up fascinating and requires no deception or even attraction to her whatsoever to take interest. If you find it boring, I think you're missing a lot on a type of intelligence that will still help you just as much as theoretical physics to conquer this world.

If I use Star Trek as an analogy, there are lots of Star Trek fans who nerd out on the schematics of starships, the precise location of the Holodeck on the Enterprise, the detailed workings and history of the warp drive. They're all very bright with a knack for comprehending and recalling encyclopedic data as well as complex analysis.

But there's also the time when Worf tries prune juice for the first time, and his eyes light up, only to proclaim it a "warrior's drink". And there's an encyclopedia worth of information too on how he responded there including his body language, what it says about him, being Klingon and their taste palates, in being raised by humans, in being accustomed to Starfleet values while still being Klingon and the conflict between.

A lot of nerdy types in my experience quickly dismiss just how much information there is just in his body language and terse words. It might only be worthy of a paragraph in an encyclopedia, but there's so much information here that can fill an entire book if we drill it down to the most granular resolution level, like molecules and atoms of a complex organism exhibiting seemingly simplistic behavioral patterns.

If you cultivate this ability to find so much information in what, on a surface level, seems so little, you'll never be bored with people or find your intelligence (which I don't deny) to be a barrier.
