Why do most men like bad girls, they guy i liked preferred another girl over me , this girl does bad things, like fight, gossip spreads rumors, she does drugs

"The guy you liked" is one guy, not "most". And as others said it's hard to picture there is a general preference for "bad girls" of that sort. This guy has his own reasons to have chosen her, and reasons to allow flaws in people can be really many and different. Some reasons might not even depend on the girl herself but on the guy not knowing what he wants or looking for something unserious and easy to discard, or being introvert and indecisive and so just going passively with the flow with the woman who takes him stronger. Or it could be even about you: maybe he saw something in you he felt as red flags that for some personal reasons worry him more than the flaws of this bad girl (maybe you were clingy or who knows what else).
To really understand why he preferred this girl, the only way is to get to know this through him. No other guy will have the same preference, it's too subjective to be able to tell why just on the base of few data like this.
In any case, if he failed to recognize your qualities, maybe he wasn't such a good pick afterall, and not a big loss...
In conclusion, now don't assume guys prefer that type of girl in general and that you should start to look like her. It's just not true, any type of girl ends up getting a matching guy with them at some point, so you'll just find your best match too who is apparently not him.

"Bad" can be a bit exciting, fun. But most people don't go for bad, as it's also unpredictable, volatile, and tends to create trouble.

What many guys like is a girl who is lighthearted, fun, laughs easily (especially when the guy makes jokes, funny or not), and isn't always inside her head, afraid to express herself, or needing constant affirmation. "Bad" does what it wants, and that can be selfish and self-destructive at times, but also not so needy or serious.

I don't think guys generally like bad girls more, they may consider them easier to have sex with and like them for that reason depending their goals, also in this specific case is the girl hot? Because I think a guy will often prefer a hot girl even if she has problems because he thinks the problems can be fixed or ignored, this is not a wise approach but I think it's a common approach!!

If it's just for sex or dating but never marrying her, sure they do. I haven't heard of a guy actually committing to a girl with a shady past, unless he's the type that really can't get any girl at all and he has his own flaws.
