Was it a date or are we still just friends?

Anonymous

I spent yesterday with a friend of mine but it was the first time we hung out alone and it felt kinda like a date. She asked me about 4 days before if I wanted to go out for dinner with her. I said yes, and eventually the plan expanded to going ice skating as well. We never really clarified if it's romantic or not, so I kind of assumed she just wanted to go out as friends.

We spent about 8 hours together and we were talking literally the whole time. Like completely uninterrupted. We've talked before in more casual situations but never for this long. We were laughing at each others' jokes basically all the time and it went by super quickly. She was dressed really well and was wearing more makeup than usual. I really enjoyed it even if it was just a friendly hangout but there was something strangely romantic about it that we both seemed to be ignoring.

The only thing confusing me is that we never really broke the touch barrier. Also saying goodbye was super awkward, I had to get off the bus before her and she kinda went for a hug but I didn't realise she wanted to hug me in time and at that point I had to get off the bus lol. Also she's never hugged me before but hugs aren't exclusively romantic of course.

I texted her afterwards and she replied instantly telling me how much she enjoyed spending the day with me and that she'd be down to go out with me alone another time.

I'm really struggling to tell if we're just really good friends or if she wants something more out of this. There's no reason why this couldn't all just be friendly behavior. What do you guys think?
