I have been seeing this guy long distance for about 5 months. Him and I have a mutual friend “J” who set us up together after my now ex-bf was so enamored with me at a restaurant that he asked to be introduced.
Everyday my ex would tell me I’m beautiful, tell me good morning/night, tell me I’m everything he could want, “future wife” etc etc. He was genuinely the most consistent guy who I’ve ever gone out with.
Then J found out that this other girl posted a photo reel on instagram of my ex and her on this date night all cuddled up and romantic. The post was about from a month ago.
J being my best friend confronted my ex and told him that he needed to tell me about this girl and had until the end of this week to do it, or else he’d tell me himself - which he ended up doing himself. My ex told J that he’d been seeing the girl for about a month after my birthday and that they were officially dating.
My ex finally addressed the situation after I deleted a flirty message I had sent him in the morning. He said that it was something new, that they just started talking and that he had to be honest that he didn’t know where it was going. Essentially breaking up with me via that announcement…
I have a feeling that if I hadn’t brought it up - he would have kept me and the girl both in the dark until we both found out….
Just needed to vent, but any kind advice would help :(
