Would you consider it a red flag or strange if a person had no social media profiles?

Well, that’s me. I only use GAG and discord for my gamer friends. I am part of an online community of gaming. I am not a hardcore gamer but I do take it a little seriously. I practice for my game and stuff because it’s competitive and I take it personal. I have my own personal reasons for not having social media.

I have a giant red flag then, cause I got off all social media awhile ago and even spent a year or so with nothing before finally deciding to join GAG.

I do not consider it a problem and in fact I encourage others to stop posting their whole life story online.

I did that for years, pictures of my food, everything between Snap, FB, IG, Twitter, even a bunch of Tiktok's.

Then I got some real world stalkers using that info against me, so off I went and I encourage others to go offline or minimalize it to protect your privacy and for personal safety.

I have a Facebook, but I am not active in it. I've had it since my 20's. I also used MySpace back when it was popular.

Other than that, I feel like an old geezer because I do NOT have or at least not active, in a lot of today's social media hyped-up websites lol. Maybe I need to be as maybe I am missing out? Lol. I did Neopets when I was a teen and some of my 20s (which, looking back now, maybe I should have stopped because I did feel a bit too old for it haha. But my god did my friend get me hooked lol). I have a TWITTER but also not active. I've had a few YouTube Accounts. Also, back when Yahoo Answers was popular, I had an account there too. I also have a Reddit but I remember being bullied there one time and so I never really got active with that either. There were more I'm sure.

I really like G@G. I feel like there's more nicer people here and there's more options when you do deal with trolls, haters, etc. But at the same time, it's still the internet and one SHOULD still be cautious.

And Tik Tok? Oh please don't get me started lol.

I mean, I guess someone could not be on regular social media, but not even facebook? I wouldn’t automatically think the worst of him, but I might at least wonder if he was in federal witness protection, or maybe even a wanted criminal, or a conspiracy theorist, or even just paranoid. I mean, being 20 today, and not being on ANY social media is kinda unusual. I guess if he (and I) was older, then especially guys may not be on social media, but a 20yo? No! Something is definitely going on there. And if it isn’t something like witness protection, or he’s a criminal, then it’s probably some weird religion or something… Either way, it’s still a “Red Flag” That does not mean I won’t date him, but it definitely needs to be addressed before we can move forward in the relationship.

i mean i literally exclusively used discord 2 years ago its just recently I've been put in situations where i need to talk to more people whod ont use discord and now im good friends with those people

No I´m similar. It depends on there reasons for it though. For me it´s because I don´t see a reason to use Insta since it seems to capture people more than real life activities and I don´t like to make photos/clips of everything.

Me, I'd consider it a plus- but that's a VERY uncommon attitude these days. A lot of people, especially women, see a desire for digital privacy as a threat.
