Which type of single mother has it harder in the dating world?

- A single mother with kids of 1 or 2 men; she selected wrong. She was likely an unstable girl and had a past in her younger years. The child's father bailed out.

- A single mother via IUI (artificial insemination). She likely got strung along in a long-term relationship and by the time she found out he would never marry her, she had wasted years. Not wanting to kill her remaining years, she went to the fertility clinic to it done.

A single mother via sperm donor (at a clinic)

Both equally as hard

I don't think men care how she got her kids, many rape victims who give birth and raise a child they didn't have a say in, still get treated just as bad as someone who chose badly.

Although I'd think it would be easier for the one with no father involved or who might show up later and suddenly want to exercise parental rights that are guaranteed by law.

Fathers can vanish for years and then show up and if refused, go to court and she gets ordered to allow it or be in contempt, it starts out with supervised visitation for a few months then goes into unsupervised.

That seems like a big risk right there, but what do I know... I'll never be a mom like that, so can't relate.

A lot not all but a lot of women get raped just because they where in places they shouldn't have been. Getting dog drunk in a night club of at a dorm party full of drunk men. Not saying it's all of them but some could have prevented it if they would pay attention to what's going on around them. These dorm party shouldn't let women in them. I read that the number one sexual fantasy of women is being raped, what the hell is up with that?

So the women has no part in it? Accountability is something women are absolutely terrified of. If she runs with drug dealers and end up shot or dead, who fault is it then? If she lays down with dogs, she going to get fleas. If she plays with snakes, she going to get bite. Every thing in life has a conscience.. if she drives a car, she going to get in a wreck. She isn't responsible for being raped. It is also saying women shouldn't go here or there (removing freedoms) because if she does, this will happen and be her fault.

100% of responsibility is on the person who commits the crime, victims don't have to take responsibility for what the criminal did to them, that makes no sense at all.

Guys on GAG put down single mothers but they have options. Not all men are young, tall, dark, and handsome with high incomes. If a guy is short, overweight, with a minimum wage job, he has zero change to date a young pretty single girl. If the best he can do is date the single girl on the left and maybe date the single mom on the right, who do you believe he would choose?

Option A, cause there's way more emotional baggage and red flags, there. Option B at least shows some maturity and initiative. But I could never date a single mother either way; I don't want kids and I'm not changing anyone's diapers. I'm a teacher, so I work with kids every day, but I am NOT father material.

Not sure where you are from but getting a date for a woman is easy. Getting a higher value date is probably going to be the issue in general. For me It would matter if there was drama attached to the situation I would proceed with caution but open to the situation.

The most off-putting thing about single mothers isn't necessarily that they are mothers or that they made the wrong choice in past relationships. It's that many of these single mothers don't take time to heal from these bad choices and will carry over the emotional damage from these relationships which is unfair to anyone regardless of whether or not you have children.

The single mom with the test tube child definitely has an advantage because guys like hearing stories about these kinds of things like how she got pregnant from a doctors office. Plus there’s no baby daddy she has to deal with, unless she still owes on the test tube baby, then you might have to deal with some collection calls but it’s not like they’re gonna repossess a baby.

It would still be an interesting story on why she would be single and want to spend all that money on a test tube baby and why she’s now looking for someone to pay off the test tube baby without a plan. I wouldn’t plan on a second date with someone like her unless the story was longer than the meal and it has to be continued for another date.

Neither. Both are incredibly stupid. The absolute worst children come from single mother homes. 90% of the prison population is from single mother homes. The vast majority of rapists, murderers, drug users, vandals, arsonists,, criminals in general are from single mother homes. Sure its hard on the mom. its WAY worse for the child. Way worse.
