How soon is too soon to meet someone offline?

I started talking to my fb crush yesterday. I shot my shot and we’ve been texting since then. He is a truck driver and I’ve heard many sex trafficking stories that involve them and I don’t want to be a victim of it. I’m jumping the gun a bit but u never know. Anyway. He just asked to meet up next weekend. I told him I have to see if I work first and I’ll let him know. But is that too early to meet someone in person? Even if I let someone know where I’m going I think we are about an hour or so apart so should I even do it? Should I wait?

How much older is he? And maybe you should make sure you meet in a public place plus maybe it’s a good idea to video chat to make sure that it’s really him. I think a day or two is fine as far as meeting after, but you really need to make sure it’s in a safe place.

Thanks for the advice and He is only a year older than me and I was just going to bail this weekend for “work” and try and schedule again once I’ve talked to him a little more I approached him first but I’m still trying to keep things safe.
