Why is he acting weird after prom?

prom was this past Saturday and it was really really fun. its kind of crazy how comfortable we became in a matter of a few hours.

opened his car door and doors always for me... gave me a corsage... overall was just really sweet.. payed for dinner...

today in class though, he was overtly obnoxious did not say a word to me... i wonder if someone asked him if we were dating and then he got upset... but even if someone did who cares... you shouldn't be cold just because of that.

my feelings for him have kind of come back. not as much as before at all. but i know him so much better now I dont know why we can't just be friends for the rest of the year.

why is he acting like this?

hey so update. i texted him that im hurt by how he's acting distant and i just didn't understand why we can't be friends. he comes back and tells me that he's sorry and wants to remain friends but bro WHEN DID I EVER SAY ANYTIONG DIFFERENT? I never did i wanted a relationship firs tof all second of all we were never friends to begin with so that is my point with texting you to begin with. oh my lord... i dont think im gonna say anything back honestly.

I was like that when I was in high-school it usually was because was not comfortable being in the spot light or receiving attention so it just came out like that because he figures the eyes will be off him if he distances himself from yo

I'm sure everyone saw you click and that's probably what brought him attention. People asking questions he is not comfortable with being asked. He probably felt like he was being put on the spot and is reacting to this pressure the only way he knows how. I'm just saying things that ma seem like they are not a big deal to you or anyone may be right now huge in his eyes. I've been there and made mistakes and acted wrongly but it was only to stop the anxiety I had when people would start questioning me about my personal life. Another reason could be if someone he was close with or had a bond with heard about how well you two seemed to be hitting it off that they questioned him and he is distancing him self out of loyalty to them if it's a romantic connection he would probably act this way even more extra if that person was near by so he in effect is proving to that person that it's obviously not like what got back to them

At his age, liking a girl is scary... it means opening emotions and possibly getting hurt. You and he had a great time at prom, and though he liked that, that also scares him. I suggest you be yourself around him, give him space and time for him to figure out his emotions... and enjoy your time together.

I think you are okay asking him in private in a non confrontational way. I understand where Tom is coming from because we are closet in age and things where a bit different then and I'm not 100 percent sure about either of you backgrounds. As for me I have 3 daughters one in college one in high-school and one in middle school. I'm actually impressed with how the schools in our area encourage and teach the students about communicating and how to do it effectively. When the kids come over and I overhear them talk to eachother it's impressive to hear them work out thier differences and the topics they talk about. Way different then how I grew up. So I say if you are at a school that is similar than have the conversation it may be a little awkward but learning how to communicate your perspective at the sametime understanding how 2 perspectives of the same event can differ and how that affects the way people react is important. Communication is probably the most important thing in any relationship. I learned eventually that it didn't matter how much I cared for or loved my if I wasn't able to communicate it to her in a way that it could be recieved by her and reflect what I felt. Sometimes clarification and understanding comes from conversations that make you nervous.

Yea we guys can be a bit weird in our teens. Here it looks like a bit of insecurity: he might think he would not look manly and though in front of his friends if he is nice to you in class

June 2 but we are going to see each other for a summer competition... for about a week more. should i say something like "i dont like how you are acting since prom.. it hurts i thought we could be friends since we got to know eachother"
