Why did my guy friend suddenly remove me from snapchat?

So this guy was my friend from school and we hung out a lot of times where we would drive around in my car after school before but he always was the one to initiate any hang outs. I felt like there were times when he would give signs he was into me saying I was “Cute” on snapchat and so I started to have a crush on him even though he had a girlfriend!! I couldn’t help having this feeling like he didn’t like his girlfriend so much and that he liked me before he even met her.. But he is a confusing guy one moment it seems like he likes me when he smiles at me the next moment it seems like he’s only trying to show off his girlfriend. On prom night he brought his girlfriend and I told him I was bringing a date (I ended up not bringing a date) and at the end of the night he complimented me saying I looked beautiful. Anytime that I felt like he was slightly flirting and he started to constantly message me on snapchat I would leave him on read or I would take FOREVER to respond. I don’t understand why he would ask ME to hang out when he has a gf! I tried to make it seem like I didn’t like him and I DO like him. So the last time we hung out I was acting super awkward, weird and quiet the whole time I was embarrassed of myself. He said he was going on a trip for 2 months so I messaged him after telling him “See ya when you get back!!” he never responded. A couple weeks later he asked me to pick him up from the airport I only said “Can’t” he left me on read. He was always the first to view my story, it was my friends bday and I posted a BUNCH of happy pictures of me and her and I said HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and then I noticed he deleted me. I was so blindsided I started to cry ”How could someone I thought I had a connection to cut me off just like that?” Im worrying what I did wrong. Should I wait a week to see if he adds me back and then if he doesn’t I will ask him “Why did you unadd me?” should I ask this or not? How soon? Why would he do this? I want to keep the friendship! But I felt like we were pretty good friends and I don’t want to leave on bad terms I hate that I feel this way it’s pathetic but I don’t wanna lose a friendship. Do you think I should ask in like a week why he unadded me? or sooner? or not at all?

I don’t post that often at all. I was only posting a happy birthday post to her which I never did for him. We only hung out as friends nothing more but he asked to hang out often.
