I told my crush how I feel but I didn’t get a clear answer. Should I take it as a rejection?

Me (19F) and this guy (21M) are good friends, and I’ve liked him for a while, so I decided to tell him how I feel. Yesterday, I said that I liked him and I wanted to know how he felt so I could move forward. He said that my confession made him really happy but came as a surprise, so he would think about it. What should I make of this? Is it a nice way of rejecting me?

Earlier today, he texted me about something unrelated and sent me some reels. So I think that he’s trying to show that he only sees me as a friend by acting like he did before I confessed. What do y’all think?

I may have a solution for you.

So lets say this guy likes you, but is unsure about some things regarding you, he may simply be waiting to verify those things as true/false before deciding.

A lot of the time women tend to be quicker than I am at deciding, because I'm very open, and most people aren't, so it takes me longer to figure them out.

If you want to speed it up, just tell him to ask you anything he's wondering about you, as well as anything he likes or dislikes about you, and you can explain, confirm or prove false any of his guesses or unknowns. At that point he can be straightforward.
