How long is normal to stay mad at your partner?

My partner has been mad at me for over a week so far. I have apologised so I’ve just been ignoring the fact he’s mad and acting normal around him to see if it will help. It hasn’t really helped he’s still mad but I’m not sure what else I can do if I apologised.

Is like 8 days too long to be mad at your partner? It wasn’t over a serious issue, no cheating or lying or anything of that sort

Basically his sister is going travelling for a few months on her own and I stupidly said oh its not safe she’ll need to be careful on her own. I also said the country she’s visiting lots of people have been killed there and he got angry and said don’t say stuff like that when I’m already worried about her. So basically I was insensitive
