I've had plenty who were not gold diggers , but you have to be careful how much you " help " as thats always only the beginning , there is always some dickhead who is prepared to show off and " contribute " more , sustainability? Another issue all together.
Bangkok you have a chance of meeting a " real " girl , virtually impossible here in Hua Hin , its BYO only.

If you are from USA its probably immediate , the best way to think about it is the " average wage " and massive household debt , never ever agree to a " Salary " , average wages 15k to 20k baht ( Month ) , so never ever let yourself be conned , think always in Baht , US$$ have nothing to do with it , and never talk yourself up , as is common with USA , its a must not here , talk it down , down , down.
Also , she is never " different " all is exactly the same , always the same , and there will be a lot of bullshit flowing.

Heard of it costing between 10K-20K Baht. At least in Pattaya. But then again, this is like everywhere. No money, no honey.
I can't get rich quick enough and get there.
My investments went to crap. I'll have to retry. I am better at making profit than these financial advisors I've found.

10 and 20 k is the number bro , at 20k you kinda employ them , that's not without its issues you always need an " exit stage left " , that's why I'm very cautious of salaries , no one wants to give one up , and all wish to enhance , and in the middle of that lies the issue. Honestly you are too young for here , Thailand should never be where you start , but where you end up..

@molonski2 when there everyone seemed happy in that they were making a good living and able to "make it". Lot of young people working from different nationalities, met a thai girl for one. The streets were nice and well kept. Police were reasonable to talk to.
Someone is putting $ there... so far it is working from what I could see.
