Is it ever too late to turn around and become a good person?

I was playing air hockey with a girl that was dating my crush. We were at a pizza place for graduation and she was a cheerleader who was captain and absolutely beautiful. She had green eyes, was smart, skinny and was dating the high school qb.

For graduation, they took our class to a pizza place with games. So I was playing against her and I was really good at the game. I slammed the puck so hard on purpose that it hit the wall and hit her in the face. She fell to the floor and was bleeding badly. She now has a small scar on her face from what I did to her. She somehow ended up working with me and I never told her I did that on purpose to her out of jealousy and frustration that she was with my all time crush. I have done other things to her but this was the worst I ever did.

It's never too late. What you did was bad, but it was also very human.

The next time you feel the urge to do something like that, even looking back, ask yourself why you wanted to do it in the first place. What made you so frustrated? That this guy picked her? That you didn't go talk to him? Or is it because it made you feel less valuable or like she could do something easily which was very hard for you?

What I'm getting at is these very emotional reactions are usually rooted in a deep security which until you learn to acknowledge that it's there and work to overcome and ultimately resolve them, they will continue to control you.

If you were acting rationally. You would have become friends with her and tried to figure out what it was about her that was getting her what she wanted. And as a side note, this kind of behavior is very common across both genders, guys deal with it differently (or at least, the ones considered men do)

Work on being more self aware in terms of how your emotions are effecting your decision making and you will start to feel like you have the ability to control your actions much better. And remember not to be overly hard on yourself, just honest.
