How long do you take to respond if a girl messages you first on a dating app?

I sent a contact request without a message (that's the way that site works) to a guy who has the same exact uncommon interests as me AND who's from the same city as me so I just said fuck it and he literally immediately accepted even though he hadn't been online in 7 days or something, so in my mind he literally jumped when he got the notification and that gave me hope lol

I messaged him something along the lines of me liking his profile and his music taste and that I found it cool he's from the same town as me and I asked what he's looking for. But I haven't got a response yet and now he's offline, I sent that message 4 hours ago

My profile picture hasn't been accepted yet but I do have a bio and we like the same bands and all. Do you think he'll respond?

When I was dating online, I responded as soon as I got a message. I didn't get many, so that was not a chore. Even if I weren't interested, I would respond politely.
