Is he being genuine or stringing me along?

Do feel silly asking this as I feel I know the answer, but I met him online just over 3 months ago, we went on a first date, and 2 other dates in a setting of a group of friends etc. - we do not live in the same town, and both have really busy lives. He is still quite consistent in texting and reaching out, as when we first started chatting, although the flirting emojis and texts are much more often used now. We both really enjoy each other's company; I feel really safe around him and can just be myself. It really feels like he wants to be there for me, looks out for me in different areas of my life, wants to make me happy and remembers small things. The chemistry is huge between us and have shared a lot of kisses, hugs and cuddling. He did ask if we can take this slow as he does not want one of us to get hurt in the long run. Is this taking it slow an easy way to get out or is he being genuine by rather taking it slow and steady as to just jump all in and getting hurt?

Taking it slow is the only way to take it. Go too fast and the relation will fail because everything has been hurried. People don't take the time to get to know the other deep enough but everything is very superficial.

Also, taking it slow may be an indicator that he has made bad experiences in the past and he does not want to make them again. Finally, if your age is corresponding to the one you give in your bio and his age is approximately the same, physical intimacy does not have the same priority as it has when teenagers get intimate.

I am totally in favor of taking it slow. You know this guy better than anyone else here on GaG and you should know the signs that the relation is developing or rather falling apart. Good luck.

As long as he stays with you even if you tell him that you too want to take things slow and not have sex until much later, then he's probably genuine.
