Do you find a lack of empathy in someone to be a turn off? or does it matter to you in a partner?

I don't know about you but empathy is a huge deal to me and its very important my partner is empathetic. How important is it to you? is a lack of empathy a turn off for you too?

A lack of empathy may not be a complete turn off if they have other traits about them i like

It makes not difference in their attractiveness to me if they are empathetic or not

Huge huge huge turnoff if there is a lack of empathy and sympathy. I can't be dealing with someone with anti social personality disorder. I've already been in a nightmare situation with someone who had narcissistic personality disorder.

Do you do the thing where you pay close attention to how they treat service workers? like waiters, uber drivers and such?

Yeah. I'm always watching people and seeing how they act and react anyway. Always have been observant with things like that.

Yeah I couldn't date someone without empathy. They wouldn't understand my mental issues and it does turn me off.

Thanks! and yeah being empathetic with your partner is especially important. you don't wanna be with someone who judges you for example. would be no good lol.

Yeah my sister has that problem so she's scared of her boyfriend (of 4 years) to find out anything that isn't to her liking 🙄

Yeah, I'm a pretty empathetic guy myself... I just don't like to see people suffer, and lately that's been on my mind a bit more... Most people in my opinion are fairly empathetic to some things more than others, but fairly empathetic individuals nonetheless..

Yes, it's a turn off for me. It shows that they don't care about feelings or other people. It's also an huge red flag.
