I've been in the dating game for so many years. If a girl declines, I'm not taking it beyond that and if we're friends, that's all it ever will be, because clearly she isn't interested beyond friends, or she doesn't know what she wants and needs to communicate. I think it's reasonable to ask a friend if their friend is available. If it doesn't feel right, then that's a weird friend with ulterior motives.
