When is the appropriate time to ask about past relationships?

I’m in talking stage with a guy. We are texting every day for a bit over a month and we talk every weekend. Is it too soon or too late to ask now about his past relationships? He hasn’t asked me such personal questions even though he seems to show that he thinks long term with me. Should I ask first?

To know if I’m a re-bounce. And want to know when was his last relationship ended. Maybe I’m a bit traumatized from previous relationship.

There is no “appropriate” time. Ask whenever you want to. If they’re comfortable with answering, then they will. If they’re not comfortable with answering, then they won’t.

What do you mean by never okay to ask? I think knowing past relationships help us understand our partner better? Especially if they are over their ex.
