Is there anyone else on here that can’t be bothered dating?

I’ve been single for nearly three years now. I’ve had a few first dates (not many) since my last relationship here and there but nothing further than that. I’ve been on dating apps on and off, and either guys just ghost me or straight up talk about sex. I don’t wear anything revealing and I’m not suggestive at all. I simply just want to hangout with someone and get to know them, I have no expectations but it seems impossible to even hangout with someone.

I’ve been ghosted or had unwanted nudes so much to the point I give up. I just feel like the whole dating scene is like this. All my friends have partners and I’m at the age where people are getting married. If a match on a dating app does talk to me, it’s extremely boring, I’ll try and make interesting conversation and I’ll just get “how are you” on repeat. I just feel so drained, I’ve tried changing my “type” or using different approaches but I come across the same situations. Should I give up and stay single for the rest of my life?

Yeah me. I’ve been single for 5.5 years and have not dated since then, not even talked with a guy. I have no plans to either. The dating scene today is beyond bad. It’s sucha shitshow and nightmare that I want nothing to do with it ever again. Most people suck and I don’t intend to ever again waste my time and emotion on a man who’ll eventually cheat, leave or just be an asshole.

Yess!! Exactly this. I just don’t want any hassle or drama too. I find the dating scene is people using others for something now. It’s horrific and the way people speak to others on there nowadays is shocking. I’ve had guys straight up put me down or insult me in their first reply when I’ve initiated a conversation.

It's a shame really that those type of people ruined what's suppose to be a good thing. So when a girl or guy does appear that is decent they just just turned off and leave that idea behind.

Having platonic relationships isn't an easy thing for some reason these days. Maybe too many people make assumptions?

Well just now, I just had a guy try to get my Snapchat and I asked for number instead. And he just told me he doesn’t give his number out to strangers 😂 and I don’t want to give out my Snapchat to someone who will most likely send me a unwanted dick pic 😂🤦‍♀️

Nope, even tho it seems frustrating and it can be unmotivating I don't think you should give up, maybe don't go out of your way anymore but don't give up, if you get an opportunity, cease it, I don't believe you should just settle and accept remaining single if you want a relationship.

well that's dating. people look for a means to an end. that end might be having a family or it may be having sex tonight. you never know cause everyone lies.

Honestly. Doesn’t exist anymore, I’d rather spend my time enjoying my hobbies or spending time with friends and family than wait out for a date that 90% will just cancel

Exactly. We are on the same page here. Honestly, go to a bar….. enjoy some meal and beer or whiskey. I made a lot of friends and man, even made friends with an old guy who let me ride his horse……. damn it’s an adventure I tell ya
