This guy and I have been talking since August. I live in Florida and he lives in Connecticut in November I went to NY and we met twice. It went fine and we continued talking. Now skip to today for his 19th birthday he got gifted tickets to the Nets game later this month. He decided to invite me because he had an extra ticket and he said the word "date". I was ecstatic. It all crashed and burned when last night he texted me "I have to tell you something", I said "What?" and he started typing. He stops and I half-swiped on the text he says and I quote "You can't come to the game with me anymore". Shocked but not surprised I said "Okay" because I knew that if I said 'why?' or 'what happened?' it would show more emotion and ultimately boost his ego. He then follows up with "I'm sorry". That was a low blow, even for him he isn't sorry he's just trying to find a way to keep me in his life and continue to string me along. After he said "I'm sorry" I just started bawling my eyes out, because I fell for his potential, in my head I imagined him to be a better man than he actually is. My fault. I then responded, "It's alright". He then asked me "How are you?" I said "Good", and he said "You sure?" This right here threw me off because why is he asking me if am I sure that I feel good? Is it because I'm not overreacting and cussing him out like he expected? Or secretly wanted? After he said that I just said "Why wouldn't I be?" I'm trying to appear as nonchalant as possible he doesn't deserve a reaction from me because for all he knows I don't care. Then he quickly responded "No, just asking." I don't even know how to respond to that so I left him on delivered and I probably won't respond until like tomorrow night. What upsets me is did I do something wrong? Why did he invite me and then uninvite me? Like why even bother inviting me in the first place if you were going to change your mind? What do you guys think?

I don't think he knew he was going to change his mind. Probably something out of his control happened and made him cancel the initial plan that he had with you. Don't take it personal and try to be more racional than emotional. There's no reason for you to cry for a guy you just seen twice in your life. I would also not be very hopeful of future dates or encounters you both live away from each other I'm sure you can find someone decent in your area.

I actually had a very similar situation and long distance relationship. It was strange and ultimately he was wasting my time we reconnected again after two years, and now he is head over heels for me and he did come down to me learning a few things about how guys work and less is morefocus on yourself I know it’s cliche if you wanna know more just PM me
