What does it mean when my new boyfriend wants to invite his guy friends to my birthday?

I’ve been with my boyfriend a little over 3 months now. I’m starting to get to know his friends better but still not super well. My birthday is in a few weeks and I invited my boyfriend to come with me out of town to a get together with all of my friends. He wanted to invite some of his friends too. Is this weird or a good sign that he wants to mix our friends together? This is his first time meeting my friends too.

It's a great sign! Though he may also be thinking of his friends and that they might meet a friend of yours who they might be into.

Also, if he's going to an event where the only person he might know is his girlfriend, its nice if he can take a friend or two of his own. That way it's not so overwhemlming and he won't just feel like "the boyfriend meeing your friends" but also a person in his own right with his friends, who just happens to be your boyfriend.
