This is the first time in my life that I am considering dating someone. We haven't met yet, but we talk and call daily and are planning to meet sometime soon when our schedules allow us to. Now, while I am still wondering how I feel about him - since this is a whole new territory for me and there's a lot to unpack - he has at times said things like "If you were my wife, I would..." "If my wife wanted to, she..." and they are hypothetical suggestions, but always referring to me. And it's só much for me, I almost feel like running. I told him this, we talked about him using certain terms while I am still figuring out how exactly this is gonna work. He is really open in communicating and honestly very understanding, but I am still wondering... is this even normal to do? I mean, I have talked to a guy before and we discussed marriage and all that, but never in the sense that it would be between the two of us. So am I worrying too much about nothing and is he just really enthusiastic or is this some sort of attachment style that I should be aware of?
Is it normal for a guy to talk about a new date as their wife? (read below)?
Yeah... I felt it was odd. He explained to me he had never really been alone throughout life until a few years back, so I have a feeling he is easily attached and doesn't want to lose someone he cares about... *Me* in this case... I'm just not sure how I should handle it. Since I don't feel like he means it in a bad sense. I just feel like he doesn't really realise how claiming it sounds...
Believe me, I've questioned everything he's said so far. I cannot 100% confirm anything yet, but when I ask for a picture, he sends a picture of what he's doing (with him in it). When I ask him to call, he calls. He sends me a video of what he was doing at that moment. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is his age. He looks quite some years older than he says he is, but when I asked about it again (without actually asking his age, but someone else's he had talked about earlier on) he kinda confirmed it in a different way... He's mentioned the company he works for and his function; talked about his animals and about a few friends... stuff like that. Are there any other things I should be taking into consideration?
Personally I don't see it as a relationship, but he is interested in dating yeah. I just let him know that I wasn't sure about it, because I don't really see any potential in that if we live far away.
