Is it normal for a guy to talk about a new date as their wife? (read below)?

Anonymous
This is the first time in my life that I am considering dating someone.
We haven't met yet, but we talk and call daily and are planning to meet sometime soon when our schedules allow us to.
Now, while I am still wondering how I feel about him - since this is a whole new territory for me and there's a lot to unpack - he has at times said things like "If you were my wife, I would..." "If my wife wanted to, she..." and they are hypothetical suggestions, but always referring to me.
And it's só much for me, I almost feel like running.
I told him this, we talked about him using certain terms while I am still figuring out how exactly this is gonna work. He is really open in communicating and honestly very understanding, but I am still wondering... is this even normal to do?
I mean, I have talked to a guy before and we discussed marriage and all that, but never in the sense that it would be between the two of us.
So am I worrying too much about nothing and is he just really enthusiastic or is this some sort of attachment style that I should be aware of?
