Long distance hookup
Him: <3
Me: Missed u too <3
Him: What are you doing?
Me: Just got home, what about you, doing good? Long time!
Him: I'm good! Going home now
By the time I saw his last message it was late and I was asleep. We texted a little bit the next day and then ghost. Not sure what he wanted...
This is not the only example of poor communication, happens all the time on dating apps too. Literally 0 effort and itt fizzles. Why is this happening?

Girl, I feel your pain with these low effort texters! It's like, do they want something or not? It's so annoying.
When they hit you with just "what are you doing" I'd maybe respond like "oh not much, just relaxing at home. What's up with you?" That way you're asking what they need without just entertaining small talk.
If they can't give you a real reason they texted other than boredom, I'd be dry back. Like "cool, hope you have a nice night!" And leave it at that. Make them put in some effort.
With the long distance guy, all he said was "going home now" like wtf does that even mean lol. I'd have just said "k, take care" and moved on with my night too if he's not gonna follow up.
Don't stress trying to prolong convos that are obviously going nowhere, sis! You deserve people who can hold an actual back and forth. Keep it pushin with these low effort dudes.
No relationship survives well via text messaging. The younger you are the longer it can work but generally speaking a relationship needs the in person stuff, reasonably regularly.
So, what you should do, is (if you've established you've got an ongoing relationship thats more than just casual friends) to make time to get together in person, and if you can't get together, but want to keep the relationship going, then spend time on voice calls with video conferencing.
Also, you need to spend time talking on phone or similar where you can figure out each others needs from your relationship (make sure its worth both your times).
Good luck
I don't know it's like people try to keep this "chase me" persona it's annoying, like just text and go all out I don't mean sexually I mean go all out humourously.
