I have had this work friend for two years we really get along, and we have so many common interest. We’ve gone out to dinner before and we’ve also made plans to hang out outside of work before it hasn’t always happened because our job runs our life. I also give her life advice whenever she needs help and I also help her with her work duties. We make work easier for each other. We laugh really hard we make really tough days better. She’s sort of a sensitive person when it comes to certain things so when she’s upset about something she would ask me for advice on how to respond to the person that’s upsetting her. Recently I had a birthday party and I invited her. She first said yes but then she said that her niece was having a birthday party the same weekend so she wasn’t sure what they were doing so she couldn’t come last minute. Fair enough, then I was having a Halloween dinner party at my house, now all of a sudden the same exact day as the dinner somebody else in her family is having a birthday! Again, it’s totally cool! But I found out that during my birthday dinner she didn’t do anything at all because she post her daily routine on TikTok. And come to find out. She also isn’t doing anything on my Halloween dinner day. I messaged her a very polite message explaining about how I felt like i wasn’t good enough in the past, and if she could just be honest with me and let me know if she rather just be work friends and not do anything outside work together. she replied with this
“Hey girl, I understand everything that you’re saying. But by going off your character I would rather stay work friends. No hard feelings we’re cool 💞 “
She always wants to work with me and sit next to me and she always has my best interest at work. Why all of a sudden does she not like my character, i’m not upset that she can’t come to my two simple events it has to do with the lying and pretending so wouldn’t hurt my feelings. That’s the part I don’t get.
