I worked with a doctor at my former job and he was professional with all his workers. He never treated me better or less than other workers. I was reporting to him and he was ethical. He's 10 years older than me and single. I guess he's in his early 40s. I know I jokingly asked him before if he was looking to get married and he says he doesn't like to be bothered. Well I left the job almost 4 months ago and before I left, he was willing to be my reference for my new job which he did. He gave me his number if I needed help which I thought was kind.
A month after, I texted him just to let him know I was doing well at my new job. But I got shocked and confused when he responded if I would be willing to hang out with him while the weather was nice. This guy is attractive but I never thought he could ask me such cos he had been always professional and I never caught him looking at me specially when i worked with him. I responded yes and told him when I would be available but I didn't get any response back for 3 week so I thought maybe he made a mistake.
But just yesterday in the morning I got a message from him checking on me and asking if I would be willing to hang out with him next week. He ask where I would want to meet, but cos I wasn't sure if this was a date or not, I said we could meet at the park. He agreed and added if it's raining maybe we could get some dinner.
Guys, If you ask your former employee to hang out, does it mean a date or do I just think he's being nice and just want to check on my well-being?
Ladies, I thought I knew men all along but now I'm confused lol. Would you think he likes me and want something more or he's probably lonely and needs someone to play with their heart? I've had my share of bad heart breaks and I'm scared of another heart break. Plus I'm wondering why he wants to hang out with a mature woman, if he had chosen to be single this long.
