Like maybe a year ago I was at a bar for my hockey league’s draft party, some couple got in some argument and they left in separate cars while some of us where outside. Heard them exchange a couple words, then the dude kind of peeled out in his car, and the woman left in her own. Somebody joked that one of us should go after her for the rebound, haha, but one of the guys in the group SUPER-casually goes, “nah, fuck that, she’s tainted”, obviously referring to her being white and the boyfriend she was fighting with was black. I was kind of thinking “dang, bro, STILL? In the 21st century?” And a bunch of guys just chuckled along with him in apparent agreement.

Lost track of her from there other than catching wind that she’s married these days, to a white guy, and at the end of all this I’m just left wondering why I’m racially analyzing her dating history. I can’t for the life of me think of how this would have negatively affected anyone.
