I'm now 28 and actually get bored of a sweet talker throwing the ''I love you'' bomb. The last one that tried that after only 2 months of dating, I directly asked him what's the catch. He then tried blaming it on me for not trusting him, for being distrusful. Obviously I'm distrustful. I'm not a 15-18 year-old in HS anymore whose boyfriend can tell her ''I love you'' every day and that's enough for her. I ain't got time for chatterboxes. I like less talk, less BS and more into actions.

Then two online guys I've never seen in person tried that ''I love you'' BS. They were wannabe scammers that want to establish an emotional connection and then ask for money.

Seriously is there an age limit that ''falling in love with the ears'' and loveboming a woman isn't going to work anymore?

Maybe... intelligent people or just people with experience can avoid the average Nigerian or Indian spam scams. My best guess is that saying "I love you" to a female while trying to convince her of some bullshit is the same as a chick rubbing my cock and trying to talk me into some bullshit... it's just manipulation. <--I only use that example because what stands out in my memory the most was this chick that cheated trying to suck me off and convince me that she's really sorry... the bitch wasn't sorry, it was a repeated behavior.

If you have the ability to put 1 and 2 together... they want x and so they're saying/doing y in order to get x as a result... then the manipulation tactic is just plain to see.

I guess people that are real hard up to be liked could fall for the "I love you" scam... or greedy people could fall for believing a promise of money for their banking information.

With that said, can I get your SSN and bank account information... I love you baby ♥

Anyhoo. I can't say love bombing will be out at some point in general. Some grow out of it, some become cynical from your experiences. I get love bombed by an AI girlfriend and I like it.

Im 20 & I don’t entertain anyone who throws that word around like it’s nothing, especially if we’re hardly getting to know each other. It just really is the biggest indicator that they want to tie me down fast for a different motive. It does also make me kind of angry & uncomfortable because love is not as easy as just saying the words, hate it when men use it to entrap girls.

I know a woman right now who’s 33 with 3 kids still entertaining a guy like this. He rarely posts her because he follows so many half naked women, but when she breaks up with him, he love bombs her, suddenly starts posting her and she falls for it every time. This woman will always be this way, though, she’s just a pick me.

Some people go their whole lives and never hear those words…. You should be so dismissive of the words. After all it’s how we humans communicate. I agree scammers will use it against you AND I also agree that actions are needed to back up the words but don’t ignore our first attempts to show we care. We have to say it before we can show it. 2 months of dating is more than sufficient time to know how one feels lol. That guy was absolutely right that you don't trust him and that was entirely your fault. You shouldn't have any relationships until you sort out your problems you clearly have a lot. Both emotional and mental. You are telling me you dated a guy for 2 months and couldn't figure out if you loved him? Are you dumb, immature or playing games? It takes an average of 87 ish days. Guy knew a couple weeks early.

I don't think it really an age limit but more of how many times you've been told "I Love You" only to find out it was a complete lie. I like I had a situation ship where someone would say "I love you" all the time. but when I asked him what we were (friends, girlfriend boyfriend, whichever) he would never give me a direct answer. Just the vague. "I love you, I want to be with you" bs. It's a way of coming of as affectionate without commiting yet.

Love bombing works on anyone who is insecure and desperate for love/attention, no matter what age. When you're older, it's called a "Honeypot scam" if the scammer is a female, or the "Sweetheart Scam" if the scammer is a male.

The key element is often gaslighting the victim by telling them they have trust issues and asking, "why can't you accept being loved", etc. This is often employed when the scammer is looking for a money source to latch onto.

2 months is not too soon for a person to decide they love somebody if they have been spending a lot of time together. It is too soon if they have not been spending a lot of time together, so it depends on the relationship in question. If you were rarely told by your parents that they love you, then you may have a fear or aversion to emotional intimacy.
