Do women typically call the girlfriend of a guy they were once dating or getting to know pretty just to be formal and not come off as jealous?

I fail to see the etiquette in this honestly, it just sounds like crossing some boundaries. I'd feel uneasy about my ex wife calling up the women I'm dating - not because I got something to hide, but because it's inappropriate.

Now, if I were to remarry or enter a long term relationship, I'd be more undestanding and actually encourage it because the new partner would have to interact with my children, and it's right for their mother to approve.

But I don't think I'll be getting remarried or committed to someone very soon.

Most women I don’t think do this. Especially if the breakup was bad even if she was the one who pulled shit. She will probably paint her ex in a bad light or if she misses him and is jealous may try to sabotage.

Plus, to be while it would be technically legal. It would creep me out.
