You know I love you but have you seen some of the things girls have been sent home for wearing while boys literally walk about in shirts saying things like "get sex" all day free of consequences?

Then that would be the staff that is sexist, not the dress code.
In my school, they were strict with it because it was a gang infested area and just wearing the wrong colors could literally get you shot since there were always gangs waiting outside.
Yeah but a lot of the things girls are branch sent home for aren't cheeks and belly buttons. They're skirts that are more than an inch of the ground when kneeling and a shirt that accidentally happens to show a bra strap sometimes.
Why do *we* need to cover up better though? We're grown women and as far as I'm concerned we can walk down the street in pasties and a mini skirt if we want.
I'd disagree. That's scandalous af and she can wear what she wants out of school, but in school she's there to learn. And I'd probably beat the fuck out of my daughter if she were to dress like that. Beat. The. Fuck. Out. Of. Her. That probably makes me a bad person, but it's for her well being.
Yeah but modesty is subjective. Like our idea of modesty could be different even though we're in the same culture and people from other cultures are definitely going to have different
True. But that's why if I had a son or daughter, I wouldn't let them sag pants or wear crop tops unless they had another shirt underneath.
I see these kids and I shake my head, like what kind of irresponsible parent let's their kids look like that? Smh. I'd beat the fuck out of them. You want to dress like a thug or adult? Alright, let's see you take a punch like a thug or adult.
If any "difference" means "sexist" to you, then yes. But in my opinion:no... you don't have to dress like a slut to be confirming with female dress code.
Since dress codes often make a male/female distinction, yes, they are sexist.
Are they uncalled for? No. That picture is indeed inappropriate for a school setting to me. But "girls can wear this and boys can wear this" should change into "students can wear this" (especially as many dress codes still allow girls to show a lot more skin).
Sexist? Hm maybe not. But i find it weird and rather dumb that there are still dress codes around. Everyone is just allowed to wear what they want to school here, unless they have really offensive stuff on their clothes, like the nazi cross/symbol :/
I think in technicality, the dress codes are sexist against girls though guys have some restrictions too... but I think a woman's body is different from a male's body enough to justify some of the differences in clothing expectation.
I think dress codes are better than uniforms, and from how I've seen people dress there need to be more dress codes. not even because the clothes are slutty, but because they're dirty and don't match and just look awful.
No. They're just trying to make people look decent. They affect girls more because it is a fact that ladies show more skin and tend to dress more provocatively than men do. That doesn't make it sexist.
Its not sexist, its just that women clothing tends to show more skin than guys, so of course women would be more affected, but you won't see a guy with the clothes women use and the school be ok with that
This is one of the reasons I refused to date a girl in high school if I wanted to go deaf, I would do it my self. (Refering to all the drama girls make including this topic.)

No, women expect men to stick to dress codes, so no. I've noticed by the results that most women think they should get special treatment as usual.

Not this woman. I think dress codes are fair and am disgusted by how many women cry sexism at basically nothing. It just trivializes actual instances of sexism we face and is why men just shrug their shoulders, roll their eyes to when it actually happens.
I will never understand why girls say this. Actually i'm so tired of it, i just invite my mates over and watch the games on tv. Women used to be so nice, what happened to those sweet awesome girls of the past. I'm tired of living

I think it's very telling that girls are expected not to distract boys instead of boys being expected to learn to control themselves.
I am constantly amazed by how much you've gotten through. Basically boo other people :(
Of course the staff is sexist. They're the ones that came up with the dress code.
@LaVilaine Agreed.
But it's not sexist to not want asscheeks and belly buttons everywhere.

We as ladies gotta learn to cover up better. It's also inappropriate to see a boy's underwear and I'd say send his ass home too.
Why do *we* need to cover up better though? We're grown women and as far as I'm concerned we can walk down the street in pasties and a mini skirt if we want.
Sure. But teens should not be able to.
Why?
You really think it's appropriate for a 13yr old to wear pasties and a mini skirt to school?
Honestly if the kid is going to school and is focusing on school I don't care what she wears.
Why is it for her well being?
Because I personally value modesty over almost everything. It's health, education, modesty, animals, the environment etc.
If you're exposing your body nobody will respect you, I know I won't.

LMFAO! I get that.

To be fair, any boy who wears that in the pic will be causing a stir as well.
Thank you! Geez, it's like women became stupider or something. Embarrassed of my own gender.

Blame feminism. I do.
#bobbyxx Yea, i'm so tired of that word "feminism" I need a beer
*girl dresses like a whore*
School: stop dressing like a whore
Girl: OMG, sexism!
They're not sexist if the rules apply and are enforced equally for both guys and girls
They are sexist. Guys can basically wear whatever the hell they want while girls have a bunch of restrictions.
I'd say it's the staff being sexist, not the dress code itself.
Boys have to wear trousers so...
It's rather sexist against men, because women have a lot more variety and diversity in their dress-codes.
Because conservative hate any skin that is showing and want to treat you like a maid. Do not believe what they tell you.
I don't feel that dress codes are sexist.
They're not. Girls aren't dressing appropriately for the time
I believe dress codes are in place in schools to protect the young ladies. But then again...
Obviously they're not "sexist". What kind of ridiculous question is that?
