How do I convince my parents to let me take humanities?

Hello everyone! I live in India. I am in class 9th. I want to take humanities in class 11 but my parents are strongly against it. Both of them are engineers and my father is very controlling. This has really become an issue since whenever the topic comes, they get really mad about me wanting to take humanities. They keep trying to discourage me, trying to put down arts and telling me science is better. It has always been that way , for as long as I can remember in other activities too. But I can't take this anymore, so if anyobody has some advice, please help.

Tell them that science isn't just your thing and you can't pull it off. And by the way, haven't they watched 3 idiots?

I have... they are just adamant. And yes, they have seen 3 idiots, I don't know why they don't seek some lesson. Thanks, I guess

Asian and indian parents man. Total control freaks. Most you can do is runaway when you're old enough to cut them off
