Maths is actually integral in art. It may have been intuitive, but every one of the pieces of art created by Da Vinci, Michaelangelo, Raphael, Picasso or any other artist required perspective, scale, and any number of other calculations to make those paintings and sculptures come to life.
History is essential to understand the time we're living in. If you don't understand history it's impossible to avoid making the same mistakes others have made. Look at Trump's behaviour if you don't believe me.
The subjects you study as a teenager will help you have perspective and an understanding of the world. You are in a position where in a few short years you can be able to change the world. Studying all your subjects now will let you do that. Teaching in the future is how.

I'll take this one at face value.
One of the most important things about learning is to learn HOW to learn. This may sound like gibberish now, but in 20-30 years, you'll think back and realize that there was an old guy who knew what he was talking about. You read about something. You find the strong points and the weak of the topic. You do further research for more (hopeful) facts about the question areas. THAT is how one learns. It isn't just stacking up a pile of "completely unnecessary information". As far as using the information you learn, true I might not need to know that Illinois in the United States grows more pumpkins than any other state. But, if I am going to make three pumpkin pies and not just one, I had better know my math so I can triple my recipe!
As far as the wide breadth of subjects, it makes you a better thinker, more able to reason, more able to arrive at sound decisions (well, that part will come in about 8 years or so as the "executive decision center" of your brain matures ). While not an earth-breaker, it gives you the ability to carry on a decent conversation in a variety of areas, not just how to paint walls if you are a painter, or how to crack an atom if you are a nuclear physicist.
Plus, people are often surprised (I know I was) about how much "cross-learning" there is amongst topic areas. Music has very close ties with math and science (pitch and sound generation). Furniture builders need to know basic math, geometry and even a bit of botany. Even painters and window washers have to have a basic understanding of general science (materials, surface tension, emulsions, solvents and solutes, etc).
My first degree was in Communication and Graphic Arts, my masters was an MBA, and my diploma was in Massage Therapy. Unrelated? Well, I do all of our own signage, mailers, handouts, newsletters, graphics for our wellness business. I also do all of our own bookkeeping for our two businesses and our household, so both of my degrees help support our businesses now.
The educational system in the United States is not the best - everything has to be tailored to the lowest level of performers at every grade level, which left me bored to tears in elementary school a lot of the time since I had already learned most of what was being taught at home from my parents or on my own by reading. Is it any wonder that HomeSchooling is flourishing?
So, your dreams DO matter. The only way to fulfill them is through perseverance. We've all had to "put in our time".
One hint about learning - try to find out how you learn BEST! If you like to hear things explained, you are an aural learner. If you have to do things "hands-on", you are a tactile learner, etc. If you find out how best you learn, perhaps then it won't feel like a useless drudge."We learn completely unnecessary information, and the information we learn is useless in real life."
To you perhaps but to someone who will go into further studying and then working in different fields than you might find that information useful. And those fields will have more advanced fields of studies in that regard and will expect new applicants to have the basics at least.
When I was little, I saw no reason to learn biology as I had zero interest in in. And true enough - I had forgotten literally everything I learned. But, someone who went to study biology found that information useful.
"I want to be an art teacher, but I have to study mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology."
Because mathematics is practical, art is not. You may never know if the economy will hold relatively well as it does now, meaning that your arts degree might just mean nothing at all whereas having basic understanding of mathematics, physics or chemistry might just give you more chances of employment and of being more useful to society if anything happens.
"Why don't my dreams matter for this world?"
Because you are not a princess and everyone has dreams and the sad reality is such that not everyone gets to fulfill said dreams, so we must be pragmatic and work together to at least make life for all as reasonably better as possible.
And that means studying for you.Because you don’t understand it now but knowledge is powerful. I’ve heard a lot of people say they wish they studied more but none that complain they studied too much. Even if things don’t make sense and you find them not helpful in real life I promise they’ll help at some point in your life. It may not be directly, but it may help you connect the dots of something bigger. Now I come from a country where the education is not great either and ended up getting a University degree in a country with much better educational system so I feel you but trust me when I say the pretty bad education I got in my country helped me tremendously. And I had a lot of “where am I gonna need that in life exactly?” moments. Most people do, but you just keep pushing, you’re a teen your “job” is to educate yourself. You’re stuck in this situation, you might as well make the most of it. Hope that helps.
You have a choice, and you are making it. You want to be an art teacher, and they have set a standard in place. You could maybe be an unlicensed, private art teacher with no education. But I don't know who will pay you, especially when they can have an educated art teacher who knows chemistry as well.
I think it is a good idea to know all those things you don't want to learn, they come in handy and it is good also to have the discipline to learn, whatever the subject is. I think the intention for all those subjects is to give you a broad understanding of the world and let you know more about your possible interests. It sounds like you know what you want (art), so maybe it's not as helpful for you.I think we all are "modern slaves"! But in my country you pick a course and you have only the subjects that are generally similar in this course, so you dont have to study biology when you want to become an artist but we all get the same shit, we were brought into this world to be slaves per payment to some bosses that pay us too little for the work we provide to them except if you're the boss then maybe you'll get what ypu deserve in life but even then you'll always have some higher up that only cares about you making him/her money and not about your employees doing a shitty job!
I agree with you, went through that phase. It takes a long time. But really, you want to approach school from an art perspective. So focus your excellence in what helps you. For mathmatics, think about how that pertains to art, the answer is everything, all those classes. you can find some art relations in them. Its not your choice, but unfortunately go in to chemistry and say,.. OKAY,.. I'm going to learn about everything with what to put in a painting, that would be chemical. Vails, table, scientist, what else can this redundant book tell me. Awe, thats what a germ looks like,.. biology.. put some germs off this textbook into the painting. THERE!! HERE YOU GO TEACHER!. "This isn't the vocabulary we are teaching, these are pictures.." EXACTLY! ITs a painting of chemistry!
There you go! Art goes off references, so the helpful parts be knowing what is included to Test etc, good luck!Cause that is simply life. Train the sheeps to learn unneeded education that they will forget pretty much quickly because humans brains have a way of clearing out information that is no use to us. So basically anything that is not interesting to you subconsciously is more likely to be just got rid of. But yet they teach anyway and then they give you a job of working in a simple job nobody wants. The way of life.

A well-rounded rounded education will serve you throughout life. It gives you an enhanced ability to appreciate and understand complex situations. And, the education system served as an endurance test;. Can you dedicate yourself to a long term task and see it through to completion?
I agree with you, I took 8th Grade Science and could never get the test so I would take a Spelling test which gave me straight A's and I also did Book Reports and gave to the Teacher, Mr. Laird but he could only pass me with a D for his class.. Yes, life gives us some rough challenges in life and I believe half the people who go to School still end up having jobs working in Small Businesses?
Well, unfortunately, we all have to go through this at some point. I agree that some things can be boring as hell but, personally, one thing that got me more interested and enthusiastic about some topics is learning the applications of some things or how it works in a more down to earth way. It's hard to do with very theoretical things like maths but, with physics and chemistry, there are a lot of things you can potentially be interested in.
For example, in physics, you will probably hear about wave length and how it's tied to color, which links to arts to an extent. Same thing with chemistry, a molecule can only be colored if it has a specific structure.
I personally liked these things because it interested me to know how the world works but I needed to tie these things to actual, concrete concepts (again, hard to do with maths). Curiosity really helps.Learning in the future, especially past the age where your brain stops developing, is largely based on everything you learned when you were younger.
A larger pool of knowledge makes you more intelligent simply because you have more information to draw upon to assimilate new information. In basic education upto high school, they basically give you the fundamentals of all subjects to help your brain develop all roundedly. Beyond that is when you are mature and developed enoutto start focusing on one particular field for specialization.
Because the education system is broken and useless, especially in 3rd world countries like mine (and maybe because turkey is close to Syria as well)
You can't do anything about it for now, all you can do is finish the exams and you'll have plenty of free time in University (i hope), I'm that free time, you can find different ways to practice art teaching and art itselfYour dreams do matter, bit you weren't born with that aspiration. You developed it through school. Most universities have a general education baseline so you at least learn other skills. As for precollegiate learning, it helps people decide what they want to do. What if some if vh your classmates haven't decided yet. I changed my major in college.
You have to study if you don't retain the information when it's taught. if you figure out how you retain information effectively then there's no need for study. In hindsight the biggest fault of educational systems everywhere is not teaching students how to study effectively
You're saying that because you've no idea how important eduaction is. Just do your studies and eventually you'll learn the importance of education.
How could you teach if your students know more than you about everything except what you're teaching?
I do agree with you. But that's how it is and we have to accept it if we want a job. If we waste time thinking about why this why that, we will waste our time to study all that stuff and we will regret it when the time comes
While I agree in some ways, it's important to have education and general knowledge, even if it's not what we end up doing in the future.
Because it’s important I didn’t want to study either and now I have my masters degree. It’s worth it... studying for clinical right now
