Dishwasher. It lasted 2 days because I wanted to make sure the dishes were clean but the owner just wanted a quick wash and rinse so, I was holding up production.
Next, I was in a department store going from place to place picking up all the packages people bought and wanted shipped and then I'd take them to the room where others would wrap them and ship them out. That was for a month, part time work. A month or so later, I was back for another 2 weeks in the candy department putting prices on the packs of candy. My bosses hated me because nobody ever told me I had to be a mind reader, too!! They were too busy going shopping, having lunches all day and yaking away in their office all day to TELL ME what the fuck they wanted me to do!!
I also cut grass for people, sold gandma's Christmas and Easter candy and even worked a couple days for my grandfather's girlfriend's daughter putting stickers on make-up bottles in her tiny store. Jobs were always VERY scares and extremely short-lived for me!!

I got hired working with one of my friends dads do a petroleum maintenance but I had to wait 3 weeks for him to get back from vacation so in that three weeks. Another friend of mine his dad sold cars and they wanted the detail person so I went there I got that job and then as I was detailing a car the car lot right next door which they were like brother and sister type thing the boss of the car lot next door walked up to me and said you work for me don't you and I said no I don't think so I think I work next door and he said no you work for me and you get a dollar raise and come into the office with me and do the paperwork and I said okay so that was kind of funny he's kind of fun too but then I did 25 26 years of petroleum maintenance built service to maintain gas stations all over Nevada
worked in sales/customer service. trying to get a job that actually requires the university degree i wasted money on. nowadays universities teach you jack shit (maybe how to paraphrase the textbook) and then you go to a job interview and they expect you to know how to be an accountant, lawyer, notar, linguist, computer scientist, and economist. at least 2 years of experience, required. oh and it's entry level jobs by the way. life was easy for some of the boomers, wasn't it? no one was asking them for 20 years of experience straight out of college. all they had to know was how to type 40 words per minute and dial a number.
Don't tell me, let me guess - you worked for Subaru.
Anyway, I was a filing clerk. Prior to that I was a blacksmith, and prior to that a highwayman (or woman) - "Stand and deliver!"
I'd planned on becoming an archaeologist, but I could see no future in it, so I became a fortune-teller instead.
In the end I ended up becoming a data entry operator. I didn't see that coming.

I was a Car stereo salesman at Circuit City , and I was paid hourly and commission for everything I sold , I made a nice chunk of change from it cuz at that time car stereo’s were the thing to have , so selling them wasn’t really hard to do , but I am glad I left there , cuz I heard they stopped giving commission and on top of that they are out of business lol So I worked there at a good time , Funny story I sold a car stereo system to Boyz 2 Men , I had no clue who they were when they came in until a co worker told me and I said No way lol , They were actually super cool and gave me a very nice tip for helping them out.
Babysitter. I always baby-sat neighbors' kids after school since most working parents come home 5:30 to 6. Sometimes if the parents had to stay longer at work, they would pay me extra. Which was always good. I pretty much babysit throughout my early 20's
I'm assuming you worked at a service desk when you were 18 years old? Or were you a Car Saleswoman at that age?
When I was 18 years old, I worked at grocery store known as Marsh Supermarkets as a Service Clerk (which is just a fancy term for a bagger), and I would also get all of the shopping carts from the parking lot, and re-stock shelves. I enjoyed it, and I loved the people I worked with. The company has now been liquidated.I was and still am a bouncer. I love my job, though it has some risks as you gotta deal with some drunk people who are ready to fight and try to pick up fight if they see you out of the club also. Every job has its own ups and downs. I love my job because it encourages me to remain fit all the time.
At 18 I worked at a real estate office where I draw the floorplans, make the videos, write the little story about the house you usually see on the website etc.
And I worked in a restaurant because the real estate office doesn't always have enough hours for me to live off.
And I still have both jobs now.I worked in a restaurant, preparing salads, appetizers, and desserts. I was also the night manager at a 24 hour convenience store around the same time. Yes, I actually lived "Clerks"... except we played Wiffle ball in the parking lot instead of hockey on the roof.
I did a little Landscaping, I would cut these elderly women's grass
and I left it up to them to choose whatever price they wanted to pay me

Some valves weighed over 60 tonsWell, I never had a job during the school year, but once I graduated, I applied to American Eagle, Hollister, Tilly's, and Victoria's Secret, but they all wanted someone with more experience. I live in Los Angeles, so I joined a casting website and started working as an extra. I was in a music video, a commercial, and a Scientology recruitment video. So I guess I was a professional extra!
I'm not 18 yet but when I turn 18 then I need to take over 10 -20 % of my dad's business work and for some experience I will be handling some work from around 15 - 16 years.
Had an amazing gig working a bait and tackle shop at 18. Got to work all day, find out where the fish were and what they were biting on, and then go fishing directly after work. I lived off 4-5 hours of sleep a night, just so I could enjoy that life so much
Graphic arts (paste-up - this was before full pages could be "typeset"on a computer).
I focused on college. I went to college straight out of Hs. I didn't get my first job til i graduated college at age 23. I admit, looking back, i shouldve started working a few years before for job experience
At the start of my 18th year I worked at a grocery store... at the end I worked at a golf course.
At 18 I was in a unpaid apprenticeship for a residential electrician from 7-6, then stocked shelves at a supermarket from 7-11 and on weekends I worked for a landscaper.
Walked away with barely any money for several reasons that were not my fault.
Oh well, taught good work ethic and gave experience. What we called household chores back then was MORE work than having an actual job and paid way less so getting a paying job was like a vacation. I did fast food and built websites too.
I set up furniture for events at a local church and worked at a book bindery while home, then worked for the both college tech department and events center while at college
I was already a stay at home mom at 18 so no job but I did work extremely hard at that age so I could graduate early and be able to stay home with my son.
When I was 18, I think I was a stock boy at a large department store called Fedco. It was actually a great job. I liked it a lot, it paid well, and I met a couple of my girlfriends there.
