I have had the extreme honor of meeting a Medal of Honor recipient from WWII (at the Garand Collector Association meeting in Reno), and recipients from Korea and Vietnam (while at the Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade show in Las Vegas).
To actually see a Medal of Honor is a thrill beyond words. To shake the hand of the man who received it is moving experience. I must say that each of the three men remained humble about their award, insisting again and again that others did as much or more.
Well it's super complicated things of many thoughts to that, not really one who agree's with all aspects of war or war really tho i do understand the great feats of many people in it.
Desmond i can say i fully respect and not even just respect actually like him, no doubt there reasons should be obvious.
Alvin yes i respect him, but i don't think of him like desmond.
Then kyle no doubt my respect for him jumping in front of that grenade. But then i personally do not agree with the war in the middle east and America's actions over there. And that means i also didn't agree with any solider who wanted to go over there.
So it becomes a weird mix of respect but also disagree.
Either way soldiers are brave.
I think these men are very brave. The fact that some of them even risked their own lives to save others makes them altruistic
