Is it ever easy for you to go back to work after having time off?

I have to start work tomorrow, been off the entire week. Went home to family for Christmas, stayed there all week. Came home yesterday and my home office was 42 degrees.

Well HEY, at least it isn't freaking 80 degrees and way too hot like they keep it in the building when they make me go into the building.

The end of a vacation like this does always trigger some sadness in me. Even though I know I'll be fine when I start working and get focused on it.

I wonder if it is ever easy for anyone after having a week or two off? I call it the end of vacation blues.

My company provides 6 weeks of PTO/sick time a year, I still get my pay for this. It is nice to take time off but back to work today and have 300+ emails/emergencies to work through, the downside to having time off. Lots to catch up on.

When I was in the military, it was hard to return after leave. Not because I dreaded work, but because any moment I was not on leave was a moment I could get called away to some conflict and possibly not come back. That knowledge in the back of my head made EVERY moment of leave more valuable to me than a vacation from a civilian job ever had been but also made it harder to leave my family because the risk of never seeing them again was more in my face than most other jobs would be.

When it comes to civilian work, it depends. If it is a job I like and/or I have good coworkers/bosses then it is no problem for me. However, if it is a job I hate and/or I have terrible coworkers/bosses then it gets difficult.

Yup. Company shuts down the right before Christmas until after New Year. Always hard to back motivated again to get up early. Especial since I've been off work since the last week of last October due to a non-covid medical issue.

I always dread going back to work after holidays. Firstly I get separation anxiety leaving my pets at home lol and secondly work is really scary now with covid, I’m petrified walking into a classroom with unvaccinated kids. I’m finding the transition of going back to work is getting more and more difficult for me.

Not back until the 8th. In one way I can't wait because I've missed all their little faces. But with a sprained knee ligament that is thankfully slowly healing I'll be taken it easy.

My work doesn't start until Tuesday but I'm going to work from home for the first week. To me it's my way of stretching out my vacation also there isn't anything concrete for me to do right now anyway.

For this year I decided to focus on my life OUTSIDE of work instead of my life inside of work which is what I did for 2021. I'm allotting some time before and during work to get in some exercise and I'm going to buy a portable steam room to help with my weight loss goals. Soon I'll get down to my target weight and then find my dream girlfriend :D

Off tomorrow as Christmas was on weekend and New Year’s Day were on weekend.

I have however been doing some work over the Christmas Period, kept me away from doing dishes etc.

Also we are sort of working from home, although will be in office a couple times this week.

I think vacation is great until it's over. Sad to leave a good time, and many vacations are so expensive you can feel guilty for spending so much. As I get older I find I want to go less a d less on vacations. Time off is good for everything tho.

Ugh no... its so hard to come back to a warehouse with no a. c after enjoying my nice vacation. I hate having to go back to busting my butt and being drenched in sweat lol. But it pays the bills 😂
