Lets say you have a bully who's had a long history of harassing other people at a school. the teachers and staff do nothing about it... however one day one of the people this bully has harassed stood up to them and punched them in the face knocking them out. Would you have any sympathy for the bully getting knocked out?

No sympathy at all I would try to help the person understand why they act the way they do but the first time they try and push me around it's on
