How awkward is it to turn in your 2 week notice and then work the 2 weeks?

Going to turn in my 2 weeks at a toxic job tmr. Turning my week 2 isn’t the point but it is working those 2 weeks that just scares me. I already know my manager will be very upset and probably talk shit behind my back…and we are short staffed so I doubt I will be terminated on the spot. My coworkers will probably be so upset they won’t talk to me during my shifts and I will be cast away.

anyone got any tips? Stories? It’s going to be super awkward and I hate being placed in awkward places.

When I handed my two weeks notice, I accidentally said the word “better” in front of everyone so just be careful with what you said. I went in and handed the letter to the store manager and said that this was my two weeks notice and everyone was asking why I was leaving and then I said “I found a better job.” Everyone stayed quiet and the store manager said “you can make today your last day then.” They ordered chic fil a for lunch for everyone except me. I was still just working and minding my own business but nobody talked to me for that 8 hour shift. I’m glad I didn’t have to go in tomorrow or another two weeks.

That is what I fear, everyone giving me cold shoulder and making my last 2 weeks absolute hell. I am glad they made it the last day for you tho! I hope I will get a good experience leaving too

You’ve got two options. One is go into work with your idgaf on, stay focused on just doing your job, keep interactions to only necessity and then clock out. Doesn’t matter if they talk shit behind your back, it’s childish and they sure as hell won’t do it to your face, so who cares. The other route is to make your last two weeks hell for them, slack off, miss shifts, just being a twat basically lol I know some people opt for this route. However I’m not big on burning bridges, and you may need that boss as a reference one day for the next job. That’s if this job is going on your resume. If it’s not then I’d probably save myself the fake interactions and go with route two.

I do plan to put this job on my resume so I need to keep it as civil as possible, I do plan to bring treats and gift on my official last day to thank everyone. But the uncertainty and the possibility of everyone hating me stays on my mind. I think I’m going with route one and go to work, mind my business and clock out. Thank you!

Sounds like the best choice☺️ try not to overthink it, because your last two weeks may not be as bad as you think it could be, and if it is, then remember it’s less than 14 days lol. Good luck!
