I work full time at a retail store and i just got hired (start in about 3 weeks) for a full time sales position at another store! I am excited because it will presumably be less physically demanding as its a smaller store and the job is fully sales and not like what i do now which is retail so sales are involved but that's not my main job. So im an introvert but i am excited for this change. I need something more mentally stimulating. This new job pays more, has guaranteed full time hours, is in a nice more affluent area. I feel like this is a step up in the ladder for my work life.
Anyway i want to keep my current job but go to part time. I was thinking one day a week but I don't know if they woud be ok with that? Or how that would look to them. Also you dont wanna just quit a job... You also never know if the new job doesn't work out (they will have me on a 90 day probationary period) for whatever reason and you need your old job back full-time. Plus aside from the abusive coworkers and managers here and there at my current job, the job is decent enough. I was getting extremely bored and tired of it. I could see i was not going to move up and thats likely due to favoritism. Plus i dont really wanna work in such an unprofessional environment.
