Do you actually enjoy your job/position?

I do enjoy my job even with all it’s difficulties.
I’m a TA at a primary school. So I go to a class and get a group of 10 kids (classes are about 22 kids) Andy group is mixed with kids who have learning disabilities and ones who don’t have that. Some classes I’m in the kids are 5/6/7 years of age.
Having two or three kids of your own can be hard (what I hear parents say) but now imagine looking after 22 in your day. End of the day I don’t want to hear my or anyone else’s voice.
Lunch times you get every second kid screaming and crying because they either fell over, got hit/punched/kicked… it’s never ending.
Just today I accidentally hit a 6 year old in the head with a plank😬 so accidents on my end as well as the kids.
End of term is on the 8th and I won’t be back until next year.
The kids are honestly amazing though. By 9am I’ve already gotten more hugs than I can count. All the kids are so lovely and even though I’m not allowed to say this to them, I love all of them, even the incredibly naughty ones.
I miss working with kids :( My mom oversees preschoolers so i grew up helping raise 3/4 year olds for like the first 12 years of my life. It was everything and part of why I want kids so badly
I really like my job. I did work really hard to get it, and it has more perks than I expected.
It isn't perfect, it has its flaws and bad days, but overall I'm really lucky with it. I was my team's first hire, my boss immediately gave me the highest salary he could, and my entire team works from home.
The work I do feels like puzzle solving all day, which is something I really enjoy. I also get to interact with clients nearly daily, which I enjoy, and I'm empowered to set limits with them (something still new to me, tbh).
There is pressure, but it's growth sort of pressure.
Wow i’d enjoy that too
I'm an ESL (English as a second language) teacher and besides living in the middle of nowhere, South Korea (It'd be like the Korean equivalent of living in Hoboken, New Jersey), I do enjoy my job. Honestly, I don't know if this would be my career though, as it's easy to get burned out teaching, even outside of the US.
I've been teaching for two years now. In November, it'll be three. I think I can go another four or so before I get burned out, even with a great job as this one. I don't get paid a lot, but because I teach at an after-school academy, I sometimes only end up working three hours a day (on salary, not paid by the hour), and I also get to work from 1pm to 9pm, which is fantastic, because I am NOT a morning person and never could be!
I'd rate my current job as a 9/10 and it's only not a 10 because I'm not in Seoul. Honestly, out of my sh*tty life, this job is one of the few positives in it.
Would you ever come back to the usa?
Biden or not, i graduated college in 2017 and had a degree but no job experience and my state has always lacked job opps even for those with better majors/degrees. I wouldn't blame it on any president. Its just a sucky job economy
Yeah, I'm not blaming it on Biden. I'm just saying, I don't want to live there with them in charge, intentionally destroying the country. And especially back when COVID was strong; I was so grateful to be in South Korea then. We never had lockdowns or curfews here.
Back home, there were NEVER any f*cking jobs, though! I went to JobCorp (a government job agency), applied to government and state jobs, and all this sh*t. They only wanted ex-military and people who "knew people." You couldn't even get a f*cking job at SUBWAY back in Philly. I applied to dozens of places even in 2019, before leaving. It's insane how corrupt things are there and how you had to know people just to get hired, instead of, you know, based on merit. All my friends and even associates, got their jobs through networking and connections.
It was a total sh*tshow. I never want to go through that again. I made it over here entirely on my own and going through all the VISA and immigration progress BS. It wasn't luck and "who I knew."
I'm not a huge fan. Especially with the guy I work with. My company is so unorganized. Which those people make my job so annoying. But lately it's been so slow. So I'm getting paid to do nothing lol. The too rraso a I do like it, it's very close to my home 10mins max, by car. I have no breaks, but a 10 min break to eat. But I get paid for it, and a bonus if 30mins per day paid . But overall not the best pay. I never really found what my dream job could be everything is do enjoy, doesn't pay very well.
10 min break? Hell nawl

Well what I'm going to do (again but with a different agency) is inputting driver's plates into the computer. Doing like 600 or more within the hours. It's not my favorite but I sit there, don't talk to some fukin' karen, and listen to my music. Sure, it's boring and to hit goals to go faster because they expect you to is SUPER ANNOYING. But that's the thing of a dream, you don't stay in one place like ol' jerry who's been with the company for 67 ye-what... what did you...
OL' JERRY FUKIN' DIED?
Yea i wouldn't want to stay more than 5 yesrs. But wow they make you do that many in hours? I dont type that dang fast haha
Keep on going with the hard work, efforts will pay!
I’m happy with my current work, it’s a work on the field I would have worked in and I studied for getting this work.
Initially it was underpaid but after three years I got a big raise on wage so now I can say it’s a 8/10.
Wow thats amazing to hear
I absolutely love my job. It is a lot of work when you work for yourself but I can take time off if I need to without asking anyone.
I think you're actually beginning to like the job. Lol. You just have to give it some time.
I mean this is the start of week three and the first day out of training. So yea its okay
I think you might do well there. You just have to give it time
Yea to have improved in days is a startbin itself
Regarding update. You should have said once it's booked it can't be canceled. Lol
I’d love to but im monitored lol
I'm surprised that isn't one of their policies
For the most part yes. I love what I’m doing now. Every Friday we have a spirit rally where we can dress up which is fun. Whoever is in 1st place gets something that sounds silly but if the group that I’m in doesn’t get 1st place well that’s really not cool. Hosting birthday parties is cool. I can’t wait for the outside area to be fixed so I can do that
Ooo i’d love event planning too
Yeah I was scheduled to do so a handful of times which has been a long time coming but I gotta say I love it
You see the lady in the update messed up my sale lmao
You made a sale just for it get to canceled. That’s not cool at all
I finally made one that didn't get canceled haha
I work in a mostly male dominated job, but I absolutely love what I do. I'm paid very well, have incredible benefits, flexible schedule and I get to travel often on the Company dime, so yes, I do enjoy my job.
Oh snap nice
Glad you're doing better and at least enjoying it a little
And no I don't like my job, sure it has it's perks and I have really good conditions but I just don't like the job itself, hopefully I can quit by end of this year
I hope we both come across better
Yeah🙏🏼
I don't, to be honest it was my dream job and I got what i worked hard And studied hard for , but as soon as I got the position i always wanted I didn't feel fulfilled. And worse than that is I don't know what to do with my life now😂 i mean, this job was my dream come true and I don't even like it. I can't quit cause i have no other opinions or plans and I'm not enjoying it either. so every day at work is taking away my leftover energy
My dream jobs aren't related to my degree so there's that lmao
I do not enjoy my job at the moment, but im also young and in college so i can't really complain either since they work around my schedual. ( im a waiter ). Only thing i dont like is people which is interesting since my job is to talk to people all day...
Haha that is something
I love my job. —but I would have called it a 6/10. We made have different understandings of a 10 point scale! :)
I would not enjoy sales. I’m glad you can do it.
Normally i wouldn't but so far its okay. Still in month 1 haha
Honestly, yeah, I truly enjoy my job. I'll bitch and moan somedays, and other days can just be horrible days. By at the end of it all, I'm very happy with where I'm at.
Well im glad you like it
I have 3 jobs 1 pays the bills and yes I like it. The next builds a future and I love it (I better its my company) and the last is serving on a board of directors and its a learning experience.
Man thats a lot of jobs but if you still feel alive and well, thats all that matters
No. I hate my job and what I went to college for. It’s a completely thankless occupation and the stress is so bad most days I hope a semi-truck plows through my car on the way to work.
Omg i agree about my pointless degree. I shouldve gone to trade school
Yes I love 💗 my job.
thwre are those at work who compliaims a lot. I don’t get it. We all have choices, opportunities. it’s wasting time to complain. I had a boss was was so mean.. I dealt with her… figure how to do better… and now it’s all good… I didn’t complain … I was stressed and lost weigh and had anxiety… still I worked through all that and am a much better worker.
At leasg yoo lose weight when stressed. Most gain
*least you
I gained back and more due to Covid sigh
Manufacturing engineer. Love my job. Get to work with new problems everyday and that keeps me wanting more.
Im more routine haha. I see you like changes
@DizzyDesii absolutely. If I didn't have change I would go crazy. I like routine for certain things, but change for me and the other engineers just means that this day will be interesting.
Yeah my job is alright. I definitely enjoy it more than my last job, I’m just getting a little tired of being in the food service industry. However I love my coworkers
What will you do if you switch industries?
yes, I do like the flexibility it can give me... gives me time and space to enjoy other things as well
Thats really good. I know at a time it seemed hectic so ig its slacking up some now
yes, it has gotten much better since the previous madness...
There are days when I love it, then there are days when I don't.
The worst is when I have a great day at the job, then comes in ine a$$hole and ruins my mood
All in all, I'd give it a 7.5/10
Yes its always one idiot ugh
Sometimes it's a few of them.
I actually love my job. On that same token I work in IT, and not the people side of it, the "I build your infrastructure" part of it. It's easier to work with computers than people most of the time.
I believe it
I do yes, of course I have put in the time so asking for my price is no big deal. I have gotten raises with each of the last four company changes and one raise just for mentioning that I was looking for another job.
Holy smokes! Smart guy
I do but I've been a workaholic since a month or so ago and I need to find a healthy balance again.
Yea cause being a workaholic ain't it
