Girls, how many girls/women here do a job just for the sake of doing it?

What I mean is... you guys would be really comfortable even when sitting at home and doing the regular house work.

You have gotten everything settled. Essentially, you are comfortable and need no motivation (financial or any other) to do a job.

But...

Nevertheless, you do a job just to be a bit more active, to be in the loop, and overall, just to be active and more healthy state of mind.

Our Computer Vision course mam said that she was really comfortable being at home but she felt bored by being just at home. So she took up a job at our college.

I am a 3rd year engg. student and she is a really good teacher and a person. Unlike other lecturers, she actually guided us through our papers. Having written the Abstract and majority of the Introduction herself for our paper.

What I meant was... Doing a job to spend the time better, being more proactive and all the other things.

I think I am a bit at a loss of words here. Hope you guys get what I am trying to convey here.

Well, unfortunately I also do need the money. But even if I didn't, sitting at home being bored isn't my idea of a good time.

I'm constantly planning businesses, sidegigs, activities and hobbies.

I'd be streaming on Twitch, running professional DnD campaigns and a Patreon, and producing podcasts if I had the freedom not to worry about bills.

Creating and being productive makes me happy. And it keeps me sharp.

I used to volunteer with seniors. If you don't keep active and engaged in life, it really will kill you. I intend to be sparring people half my age at 70-90, and climb until I can't, and then keep doing mentally stimulating things until I die.

But I don't do things for the sake of doing them. I do things because I enjoy doing them. Including my job. I worked for a year maintaining networks and contact with the hiring director to get this position, and I'm literally doing work I dreamed of five years ago.

It's great to have dreams and achieve them.

Aw, thanks. I don't know - motivation is inconsistent for me. I just have to make structures and find things that interest me.

I just try to do my best and hope others do the same.

if I didn’t need to work, then I would most likely, still work… just not as often lol


instead I would take the time to enjoy and relax with my so if I have one, and our kids if we have any… and most definitely our cats and dogs because I will 100000% have cats and dogs regardless of whether I’m in a relationship or have kids or am single lolol

I get what you're saying! And I think I'd happily be a stay at home mom, but without kids... Yeah, I'd probably find a job or something. Maybe I'd just volunteer somewhere.

I'm currently at home but I've been looking for a job. I could be a billionaire and I still would work. Sometimes having a job is not about the money it's about your well-being.

Also I could never be a stay at home mother.
