I never slept around but is focusing too much on college and success a mistake we make?

I still graduated from college without ever scoring a high ACT or SAT score. In fact I was never good at them. My good GPA and a well written recommendation letter from my counselor (whom was always friendly with me) was enough. In the end, even college ended up being a waste of time. I'm not even working in my major (hotel management) and I'm still childless.

Those are years I'll never get back (so much for listening to BS about how I can do whatever I want in life and that college is everything, that I'll be successful in life, don't rely on someone else, etc) and now if this current relationship (things are going good for far) were to fail, I'm screwed.

Is that also a mistake some of us make? Focusing too much on college and success and wasting more time on it... only to not even work on your major?

I'd rather be without those worthless degrees and instead live the life of the common stay at home mother and have kids who would've already been 10-13 year-olds by now.
