I decided that college wasn’t for me a long time ago, got an associates degree at a local community college and started working what jobs I could get. Now I’m pretty decent at what I do and have experience. Would say I’m even an above average performer, regardless of education, yet I’m limited to working for contractors because the companies I do work for only hire college graduates.
In a world now where “nobody wants to work” and as driven and motivated as I’ve always been despite not wanting to go to school, or experience that life, why do I have to be regulated to what feels like a second-class citizen/employee?
I will never go back to school… and do you see what they’re teaching these kids nowadays? I want no part of it. It’s a joke and they are scamming people under the current model, I’d argue. Shame on me for having a mind of my own I guess.

Employers don't understand that their requirements for employment are a large reason why nobody wants to work anymore. These dumb hiring managers and corporate big wigs don't get that the more they come up with requirements, the less motivated people are to want to find a job. Assessments are also big factors, and are actually made to try to see which candidates are up for being abused the most. Stupid mind game lines like "You like to do a lot of things at once" and "You prefer to move at your own pace" don't fool anybody anymore.
But also, a lot of people don't want to work anymore not so much because of what the actual job is, but people are getting tired of dealing with workplace drama, having to put up with co-workers they don't like who are slimy, backstabbing, or sleeping their way up the ladder while more qualified people get shit on. People are sick of toxic work environments destroying their peace and stressing them out, so I can understand.
