How to answer this recruiter question?

I left a job because of no career advancement (only 2 managerial positions above me), and no worthwhile pay raise.
Right before I left I got a title change, no significant change in tasks and pay.
When a recruiter asked the question “Why did I leave when I was just promoted?” I told the truth and I got a bad response back.

How do I spin this so I can get a better response?

"Well, it was more of a lateral move title change than a true promotion. Don't get me wrong, I appreciated the recognition. But ultimately I'm looking to take the next step in my career development and grow into a more challenging role.

The opportunity for advancement and increased responsibilities just wasn't there anymore. I want to work for a company that can help me reach my full potential. Nothing against my last company, they just weren't heading in the direction I need to take my career right now, you know?

I'm hoping with your company I'll have more pathways to take on more complex projects and leadership duties. That title change was cool and all but it wasn't gonna get me to where I'm trying to go long term. Does that make sense?"

Emphasize you're ambitious and want roles with more responsibility. And keep it positive - don't badmouth your old company, just say you're lookin' to level up. Recruiters want to hear that. Let me know if you need any other advice!
