For those of you who are multilingual, which language (s) is the worst when it comes to ambiguity and expressing yourself?

I came across an articlethat stated the English language had the highest conveyed Information Rate (IR). IR was calculated as a product of syllable Information Density (ID) and syllable rate.

But they also coined a term, syllable complexity, which I took to mean their quantification of ambiguity. It seems the more ambiguous a term, the more context dependent it becomes.

I also thought about clarifying language and just how efficient a language can be if it frequently requires it. Mark Twain said “Don’t use a $5.00 word when a $0.50 word will do.” But 10 $0.50 words or repeating/rephrasing yourself is inefficient and far more costly.

The Mere-exposure effect and primacy effect may be at play. Fancy ways of saying we’re most comfortable with what we’re first exposed and familiar with.

So, which languages frustrate you guys the most? Which ones cause you the most miscommunication?

I've actually never studied English... just did like parrots would

and every time I tried to study it, I got frustrated with the lack of structure or any actual rule

so even to this day... I just wing it, lmao

French is very contextual and has a lot of ambiguities.

Any language that is more noun-based and descriptive can be this way.

There are social reasons why older languages are ambiguous.
