In essence, it's difficult to overcome a loss. So, he buys companies that have a strong "moat" of protection, confident customer base and brand that have good return on investment. That investment is piled back into the business or via dividends, into other businesses which do the same.

Thus capitalizing on the power of compounding to...

He built a giant snowball going down hill. His nack at valuing, identifying trustworthy and skilled management, and following investement discipline ensured success.

I had to go with "I don't know". Unfortunately entrepreneurial skills as well as knowledge about business and finances are among my ultimate weak points. It sounds to me like a compelling argument you made though, but I'm afraid I'm completely lacking in the expertise required. 😅

Thank you, that's fair enough. thinking through what he's done, makes sense but wanted to see if a financial person out here had different views.
I missed an important part..."inside information". But someone dumb could mess it up. He understands intrinsic value, which is what we are missing... how to value things.

Yes. But I think it's other things that doesn't always get talked about. Like the fact that he began with 100k. He still had to grow that. But your avg. Person doesn't begin with 100k in capital. Also Warren lives his philosophy. Being a cheap person I can relate to this. But Warren doesn't floss with his money at all. I guess what I'm saying is it's a complete lifestyle for him. Not just a investing philosophy.
