People say they earn quite good but it seems like not a very decent job. Especially under bad weather conditions.
I was talking to one of my buddies yesterday and he told me that one of his sons gave up a good paying job and delivers for grub hub.
He can schedule when he works, no more day care for his son and he can take time off when he needs it.
He makes a good living making less, but their costs have gone down because of no childcare. That is expensive!
Try it, you might find that it will take a while to get good at it, and when the weather is bad you will be busier, and people might tip more because they don't want to out in the weather.
If it doesn't work out, you can move on and try something else.
Then you will know for yourself.

There is nothing “wrong” with the job , the world needs delivery drivers and driving particular vehicles for specific purpose can actually be very rewarding financially. The job however in the most part relatively un-skilled and very very challenging. Worth it? Well that depends on what you want and your aspirations. It can be !
I don't think it's a good career. Most of the people I know in passing either do not tip or tip so little I believe the delivery guy or girl is earning less than a cashier at McDonald's and cashiers do not have to pay for gas to fulfill their job quota.
When you say they earn quiet good how much money are you talking about?

It depends on the set-up. Are you an employee (W-2)? Are you paid for services rendered (1099)? Do you use the "company car"? Your own? If your own, are you paid for gas or per mile? If 1099, are you tracking your pro-rata expenses for using your car for work? Are you paid for each delivery? Or maybe by the hour regardless of how quickly you have to deliver? Is the delivery fee included in the item purchase? Are you allowed to accept tips? If so, do you have to split with the company?
It's fun to try yet not a lifer job in my mind, I have done fast food, office jobs, yes more than one, I've done volunteer retail cashier, stocker, I've done warehousing, I've done retirement/medical. So yeah. These jobs are insightful yet I for one am just glad they added to my overall 20s as one offs. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😮

Gas is very expensive nowadays depends what kind of a car you have or if you have a big giant truck plus you have to be really good at finding addresses and there’s a lot of going to work at rush-hour traffic and coming home rush-hour traffic if you work late at night it’s really dark out so it has it set back. I never been a delivery person, but I know it is hard to find addresses.
If you work for UPS or Fed Ex it can be a good job. They make good money but deliver an insane amount of packages. Driving for DoorDash probably sucks. You are dependent on tips and have to drive your own car
A delivery job is mostly for the customer, the employee is only benefited outside of monetary compensation if they enjoy traveling and meeting new people.
It depends on what you deliver & who you work for & where you live as well.
it's a job for struggle times. it's sure better than sitting in the streets, homeless, begging for money but it's not a job for the long term.
Yeah. Back in the day when I used to work at a pizza joint the pizza delivery guys would deliver EXTRA SAUSAGE to the women who requested it all the time. The pay might've sucked, but the fringe benefits were worth it.😆
It's okay to make some money, but no opportunities for advancement, and it's not enough to live off of, no matter how many hours you work
That is in Finland.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/yIdEjQMl_KcIt's fun but tough. I'did it for the Holidays. Made a Lot of Money!
Maybe if you delivered to a hot babe and became her paid stud.
It depends on where you live.
Only if the tips are good.
