Well then you are a good friend because you care and you see things that other people might not see within themselves
I am curious why you said the word suicidal though
No matter what in life people have an agenda people have plans and just because nobody tells you their plans are their agenda doesn't mean they don't have one
There are people your age that are still finding themselves
This is probably the age words most difficult in a lot of different situations because of the hormone change people at school change parent change just everything all starts coming together in chaotic ways that makes people think feel see things all crazy and different
It's cool that you're caring loving person but right now you have to focus just on you it's always cool and good to say something to a friend that you care about but you have to let them do their thing because they do have a plan just like you probably have a plan
But it's probably 20 different plans and that probably goes the same for them cuz like I said it should be one of the best times of your life high school friends just met learning becoming independent dating friendship experiences but it's also that hectic moment in life because of our bodies going to different things
And just because they don't have a plan doesn't mean that one won't come together for them that's usually the way it happens00 Reply

They’ll be fine.
Yes you should listen and get good grades but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t do that in high school.
You can completely start over in college. Even if you got horrible grades in high school, you can go to a community college, get good grades there, and then transfer to a better college. Your high school grades pretty much become irrelevant at that point.Even if they don’t graduate high school at all, they can get a GED or a diploma at another time.
This is normal with teenagers. some of them need to grow up before realizing they need to lock in and focus. And it’s never too late.also you never know what your friends could be going through. So don’t say “they’re just lazy.” There could be a number of reasons why they’re struggling. Whether it’s ADHD, mental health, family issues, etc.
I struggled in school with my grades and my absences because my sister died and I was going through other family issues. There were plenty of people who called me lazy but I was just going through a lot.

well, if they skipped a lot in highschool won't they have to study like double as much in college?
- 5 mo
Probably. The point being is that your grades in high school is not going to ruin your life. So yeah you might have to work harder and make up extra credits, but it’s not impossible.

ok so what job would they be able to get?
- 5 mo
There are plenty of jobs you can get without college. They could pick up a trade. A lot of people in trades make a ton of money.
And even if you do go to college there’s no guarantee you will get a job with whatever your major is. So I’m tired of this idea that teenagers have to immediately go to college and decide what they want to do with their lives straight out of high school.
You have plenty of time to figure it out.

Let them flop its not your worry. We get exactly the same type in the UK, school isn't cool, they're brainwashing you, it's all a lie...
Thing is even I'd they apply for entry level unskilled work they're completing against people who do have qualifications. Employers simply say if you couldn't be bothered at school why would you be different here.
What these people forget is anyone in the country can apply for that job, your not just competing against the local village idiots.10 Reply

It's understandable to be concerned for your friends. While some believe things will fall into place, it's crucial to highlight the importance of education and developing skills. Encourage them to explore their interests and engage in activities that can enhance their talents and capabilities. You might suggest they try part-time jobs or internships to gain experience and understand the value of commitment and responsibility. Sometimes, seeing real-world examples of hard work leading to success can inspire a change in attitude. Being supportive and offering resources or advice can also help guide them toward a more proactive approach.

The people here telling you that some people don't learn the way modem schools teach, and do fine later on are correct... about SOME people, maybe 30% of them. These people will either teach themselves, will do some blue-collar job (mechanic, construction, oil field work, military, etc.), or will start their own business.
But they aren't accounting for the maybe 60-70% of that group that will be stuck at the lowest tier of employment for their whole lives or will end up on welfare or a disability scam, or will make a living as a criminal. The woman may end up doing sex work - not usually an option for men. In fact, the men generally will have it much harder - women have the option of cooperating with a man and living off of him - very few men can live off a woman.00 Reply- 5 mo
Indifference or Inspiration: Profoundly clever people may not find government sanctioned tests connecting with or significant, prompting an absence of inspiration to plan or perform well. They could focus on different interests or pursuits over test arrangement

School doesn’t have much correlation to life after, highschool is a very limited experience compared to the options once you’re done. Most people in the skilled trades did not do well in school, many successful business owners did not do well in school.
I’ve never once heard of an employer asking about grades or what classes to took, if they care at all it’s more of a yes/no (do you have the training/experience needed to do the job?)00 Reply Not everyone who struggles in school ends up stuck without a job. Some people learn better outside of a classroom, picking up skills through experience, hobbies, or practical training. Success isn’t just about grades—it’s about drive, adaptability, and making the most of opportunities.
Plate forms like Get UK Jobs can help connect people to roles that match their strengths, whether or not they thrived in school. Everyone’s path is different!

Not everyone who struggles in school ends up without opportunities. Many learn through hands-on experience or other non-traditional ways. Success often comes from determination and practical skills rather than academic performance.

They just do. Like my husband was a complete shit in school. Failed many classes, got held back, constantly was getting in fights, late everyday, skipped school. Now he's likes the only person at his job who gets work done, he's always on time, gets many opportunities and has overall been very successful.
I was the opposite always good in school and now I don't even work lol - 5 mo

Oh, it’ll “work out”. They’ll end up with a job that is mind numbingly easy, requires little instruction, and doesn’t pay well.

like what job? could u give an example?

Digging ditches, washing cars or dishes, cutting lawns, janitor/maid, fast food, cashier/grocery clerk.
This isn’t meant to insult those vocations, no person is above any job. But the options of the people you mention will be limited. Then their struggle will begin.
@chocolatetwopointo WEll, we will always need ditch diggers! LOLOL

@chocolatetwopointo I was one of those morons in High School. I woke up soon afterward, and got my shit together, when not too late and got a BA and an MBA and got wonderful employment.
